Replayed The Emperor's New Groove Action Game for PC. I was forgetting how fun and challenging it was. It is one of the fewest games based up in movies that do well the job.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I saw the movie, it was hilarious.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
So instead of doing any big adventures I decided to kick back and do some single player Mario Party, as I haven't quite unlocked everything in those games. Sadly won't be able to access my Wii for a while so I only have 8 and 9 to do with. You know, my least favourite ones.
Well, it's not like I dislike the games, but the main difference between them and first games is the overall satisfaction factor. In 8, there will at least be 3-5 minigames during every board that I hate. 9 did a lot better, but damn, could they have been a tiny bit more creative with the boards? I think that anyone who is a big Mario Party fan like me can agree that adding another beach, ghost, and Bowser board to the pile was really not getting us hyped. 7 had the best board selection in the series, too bad they didn't keep it up. At least the minigames in 9 are pretty cool. Once I get my Wii I can't wait to start playing 7 and 5.

Trying really hard to actually finish Spyro: Season of Ice for once in my life. I just can't bring myself to do it. This game is worse than Enter the Dragonfly, and boy was that game bad. At least I was able to get through Enter the Dragonfly gritting my teeth the entire way.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Ive never been able to beat it either, the level structure is so goddamn annoying, the isometric view seemed to improve in the two sequels. Spyro:Adventure is actually probably the 4th best in the series imo.Slogbait wrote:Trying really hard to actually finish Spyro: Season of Ice for once in my life. I just can't bring myself to do it. Wasn't that one of the first games for the DS console?Slogbait wrote:Trying really hard to actually finish Spyro: Season of Ice for once in my life. I just can't bring myself to do it. Nope GBA, your probably thinking of Spyro: Shadow Legacy, pretty awful gameHaruka wrote:Wasn't that one of the first games for the DS console?Slogbait wrote:Trying really hard to actually finish Spyro: Season of Ice for once in my life. Aren't Spyro's games all awful after its exit from the PS1 generation? If I ever play Spyro, it will be only the 3 PS1 games.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm not completely sure, but there must be one or two decent post-Playstation titles.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Spyro Season of Flame, Spyro:Adventure (or attack of the rhynocs in US) are pretty good and keep the charm and style of the Ps1 games. A Heroes Tail is decent but the rest are either meh or just plain bad. Entern the Dragonfly has an excellent soundtrack though
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Season of Ice is the only GBA Spyro game I've played that was horrible. Season of Flame and Attack of the Rhynocs were a lot of fun and I saw through to the end. Never played Spyro Orange all the way through, but it wasn't that bad. I just wish I knew someone at the time who had Crash Purple, but despite the copious amounts of advertising for the games before they were released, none of my peers had even heard of them.
Spyro: A Hero's Tail was fantastic and I recommend playing it at some point.
And I believe I've said it on another thread, but The Legend of Spyro is okay as a stand alone game. Just ignore the fact that it's supposed to be Spyro and it's fine.
Nothing will ever really be able to top the classics for the PSX, but that's not to say some of the other games aren't adequate.
Aw, you beat me to it, Bzzit.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Seems we have similar views on the post ps1 games, I actually forgot about Orange (Fusion in my region), at the time it was released I picked that up and my friend got Crash purple, it was actually great fun with the multiplayer and card system, though im not sure it would have held up near as well as a standalone game(havent played it in years so cant remember). As much as I now hate the idea of the rebooted Legends series and usually alienate it from the games before, I did buy A new beginning around its time of release and actually enjoyed it alot, though at the time I was 12 and quite naive so I thought that the game was meant to take place before the first spyro on ps1 (yes the whole "new" thing slipped past me) thus not realizing it was indeed a reboot. Didn't play the sequels and shudder at the thought of Skylanders.

Same could be said for the Crash Titans series, as a concept, it is pretty interesting.Slogbait wrote:And I believe I've said it on another thread, but The Legend of Spyro is okay as a stand alone game. Just ignore the fact that it's supposed to be Spyro and it's fine.
Many say that change is good for video games, and I can see where they're coming from, churning out the same contrived thing over and over will get boring eventually, that being said, my issue with the Titans series is that it's...too different, if I were to change all the art and assets of the game and replace the models and textures into non-Crash related items, would you believe it to have been a Crash game?
Re: What games are you currently playing?
The main problem with Titans wasnt really the gameplay, giving Crash new moves to allow more depth to combat was a good idea, the mutant idea was pretty decent too but got very monotonous after a while. I just absolutely despised the models and personas of some characters, the developers obviously didn't do their homework turning Tiny a Tasmanian Tiger into a Bengal Tiger, when the whole point of the series is all the mutant animal originate from Australasia.Master4lyf1 wrote:Same could be said for the Crash Titans series, as a concept, it is pretty interesting.Slogbait wrote:And I believe I've said it on another thread, but The Legend of Spyro is okay as a stand alone game. Edit: your right though without the aesthetics that resemble the older games, it wouldnt be recognizable in a gameplay standpoint apart from maybe the signature spin, but still it would have been passed off as a mediocre platformer regardless, as the gameplay got really mundane and repetitive after a while. Mario has always for the most part maintained a style that people can easily recognize, despite what new innovations the series gets. If radical had simply maintained the style that fans loved and kept the platforming on par with the likes of crash2-twisnanity but added all the new moveset and mutant business to that instead of attempting to reboot the franchise. They should have balanced out the paltforming and Mutant combat too, so one or the other dosent grow stale fast.

What exactly does that have in common with Zelda? I haven't played the game, but it doesn't look very appealing to me.Rsandee wrote:If you liked those games, you should try "No More Heroes".JamesDNaux wrote:I just 100%ed Skyward Sword, now I'm stuck with nothing to play. No More Heroes was kind of... not that fun. I personally could only see myself playing it again if there was literally nothing else in the world to play.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I replayed BIONICLE: The Game. I didn't play the game since Summer 2004. 8'D
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm still playing the Mass Effect trilogy, and I'm too lazy to talk about it before I would have finished it. I'm currently beginning the third one. To people who like RPG games a lot, you must give them a try, even if you don't like RPG based on a FPS fight mechanic (even with that, it remains in the style of Bioware as the fights look like those from KOTOR as you can stop them to choose which action you want your character and your friends to do).
Will talk more deeply about it later...

No More Heroes 2 got nominated game of the year for the wii in 2008 I think, I reccomend trying the sequel as the first one isn't anything special.Slogbait wrote:No More Heroes was kind of... not that fun. As for NMH, I freaking love 1 and 2, the really awesome cast of characters and the incredible combat made for a great game. The first one certainly had MANY flaws though I can easily say, the ps3 version is much more worth buying. Travis is also hilarious himself. Otherwise though NMH2 was pure awesome. The reason why Rsandee were recommending it were to give a good wii game, and that is No More Heroes, but as I said NMH2 is MUCH MUCH better, fixing all the problems of 1.
Anyways lately I've been on a capcom fight club hiatus, playing quite a bit of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and 3, Street Fighter II, III, and IV. I love the Capcom fighters.
