That's an interesting information, Rayray. Maybe this is why plums are so iconic in the Rayman series.Rayray1994 wrote:In France plum jam is quite common, you can find it in almost every grocery store. When it's the good season in France we eat a lot of plums, and a lot of people have plumtrees in their gardens. Maybe Michel Ancel is a plum-addict.

It's a good question we should ask to Michel.

Maybe it's a North-American thing then. Yes, plum sauce is real, I always order it at McDonald's for my chips. Think of sweet-and-sour sauce, except less sweet and more rich and dynamic in flavour.Eshap wrote:I was totally just asking myself that.Rulez wrote: is plum sauce a thing?

Re: Plum juice
I tasted plum sauce in St Marteen, they use it in a delicious speciality sandwich called Roti, it's a big sandwich with vegetables, potatoes and turkey meat.

Re: Plum juice
My grandma's neighbour had a plum tree and one summer there were BILLIONS of them and we nicked half of them haha. They drop and get eaten by bugs otherwise so why not?

Re: Plum juice
I was always really confused with plums in Rayman universe due to their shape. Only when I visited Greece I learned that they indeed look like this in hotter climates. In Poland, they're usually... slimmer? Not round, definitely.
While I like plums and plum jam, I don't really remember tasting plum juice.

I can confirm this, because I'm a plum.stan423321 wrote:I was always really confused with plums in Rayman universe due to their shape. Only when I visited Greece I learned that they indeed look like this in hotter climates. In Poland, they're usually... slimmer? Not round, definitely.
Re: Plum juice
tbh never knew plum juice existed in real life, i did eat a few plums at one point when we had a small plum tree. allas said tree got some infection and it died. also regarding to the "they are distorded versions of the real life ones" theory, id have to agree as they dont exactly resemble the real ones being more round and big, neither do they have that ridge running across them, aaaand then there is the fact that the rayman universe plums are bouncy as hell. (which is something i dont think the real life ones can do, even if they didnt splatter on impact i doubt they would even bounce of the ground)

Re: Plum juice
I have tasted (eaten) plums, dehydrated plums/prunes, prune tarts, plum soup, plum kissel, plum cake and several other plum/prune foods, but never actually plum juice. I can imagine how it tastes like, though.

Re: Plum juice
You know, I once (like for at least four years) had an almost religious dedication to some fanon that I made up that was remarkably similar to this...GNineify wrote:You see, long time ago, the citizens of the Glade did some universe travel shit in space, ending up in Earth and meeting the humans, who were gigantic. The humans showed them the big ol' almighty plum, and the Glade creatures wanted to plant them all over their world. Then they did universe travel shit again and they lived happily ever after. And this totally happened, the humans just forgot to make any notes for today's historians, but the stuff in Ubisoft's video game franchise is oddly similar. They know...
I was a very weird child.
As for actually tasting the juice IRL, I have to be honest and say no. The opportunity never really presented itself.

Re: Plum juice
I've never drank plum juice.
Re: Plum juice
I have never made, seen or drank Plum juice. It sounds like an addictive beverage...like wines or even Lemonade.
EDIT: Frack this phone, Seriously. I mean to say that I have never done what was said above.

Re: Plum juice
Update: I tried plum juice for the first time a few years back at sister’s fave hot pot place. I had the same thoughts as Haruka, earthy and a little bitter but still drinkable. Definitely not my favorite fruit juice, so wouldn’t drink more than a cup of this.
I know this is an older post but I thought I’d bring this up, I think this is a mangosteen (oh but ig you knew that already lol) It’s curious though how this looks more like the plums in the actual game to me than what actual plums look like.Cairnie wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2013 9:38 pm Not quite the same as a plum but anyone think this fruit looks a bit like a Rayman one?
Never even seen one here let alone ate one so idk what it's like.

Re: Plum juice
Ah yes, that's probably why Candish used to call me a mangosteen
