This day just got better, Earthbound and Zelda? My NES came in early as well! Now hopefully Earthbound being released on the VC means the actual cartridge prices will go down a bit!Rayfist wrote:OH MY GOD! NINTENDO ACTUALLY LISTENED TO US. Oh and Zelda A link to the past remake for 3ds announced. Great day it is

A great day it is. Honestly I'd prefer a Majoras Mask remake but eh- this is better than nothing! And a new Yoshis Island how could I forget? Nintendo you are on a ROLE today. I have Earthbound for my snes but I love it enough to re-buy it on wii-U!
A great day for a Earthbound/mother fan like myself to be happy. And think about it... if Nintendo truly listened to us for Earthbound, maybe we could... get mother 3 in english? If this were to happen my god.

Woah woah, wait, wait just a minute. Miyamoto said they wouldn't release two remakes on the 3DS in a row, then he said that either MM or ALttP would get remade. This game, however, is not a remake of ALttP, it is a completely new game in the ALttP world (New game for Failure Timeline? I'm guessing Link made it back to Hyrule on his raft after all). This is a very strong indicator that Majora's Mask 3DS is in the works. Fuck. Yes.

Forgot to mention Crash Bandicoot came in the mail today. Oh and I 100%ed the first one, in one sitting, got all the colored gems and clear gems, I spent the whole night doing it, pretty fucking tough I must say but I did it

Anyway, that's quite impressive that you completed it in one sitting. I always became inpatient at many points of the game and just put it down.
Another thing: I installed Windows 8 Enterprise Edition on my computer and I must say it's really faster than Windows 7, which also threw "Windows is not original" messages every single hour and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Re: Off Topic
Annnndddd just finished Crash 2 100%, in yet another one sitting. I absolutely love the 100% ending in this one, it certainly feels rewarding for 100%. Crash 3 I've already completed before I did 1 and 2, and that was also one sitting. However Team Racing which I also did before 1 and 2, took me at least two days. It was quite a tricky one with all the challenge tokens and relics. Thus this leaves me with Crash Bash being the last Crash game for PS1 I have to 100%, once this is accomplished, I'll have to buy Twinsanity and Nitro Kart off Ebay so I can 100% those as well, so then I can play all the ps2 crash games (I own Wrath of Cortex and Tag Team Racing, just have not finished yet because I've been waiting for the others so I can 100% them in order.) Oh and I will also be buying the Crash games for gba whenever I can to 100% those. I'm not going towards Crash of The Titans or Mind Over Mutants because they both suck. To be honest though I heard Crash Bash is a real BITCH to complete 100%, it may take me few days I fear.
And if I manage to get ALL of those I'm going to buy all the Spyro games from the first one all the way to Heroes tail. My mom threw out all my Spyro games when I was a young child, so buying those again will be fun.
Oh and yes, I'm aware Enter the Dragonfly for ps2 sucked real ass. I'm only getting it to complete the collection since it goes for like 2 bucks, but I remember Heroes Tail being quite good.

Re: Off Topic
You should certainly play the old Crash games, great classics.
The Crash games on the ps2 were alright, but the new ones (Crash of The Titans and Mind Over Mutants) just killed every thing I loved about Crash. The new character design is just horrifying, gameplay is far too repetitive, however I can say some of the levels in the game look decent, other than that though everything else in the game is an outright dissapointment. I don't think Crash started sucking when Naughty Dog left him, because I liked a lot of the ps2 Crash games. It's just the new ones- now that Activision owns the rights- I have no reason to care. It's obvious Naughty Dog will never go back to Crash, but he really had a great place in gaming history. If a new Crash game is made, dear god this 'Titans' style needs to be completely ditched. They should AT least attempt to make a classic styled Crash game.

Re: Off Topic
I don't really have the drive to play them, they seem fun and all, but I think the most I could get out of it would be a single playthrough. I couldn't play them and attempt to get 100% with how linear the levels are, from what I've seen anyway. I would get bored extremely quickly, since I'm more oriented to the style of play ala Banjo-Kazooie. Actually, as much as I love Rayman 2, I find that I can't sit down and play through it anymore because I've done all of it, I know it has it's moments of non-linear sequences, but not even nostalgia holds me rigid enough to give it a go. In fact, my only problem with Rayman 3 is the lack of backtracking, you can go back and get a better score yeah, but it just doesn't do it for me.

Re: Off Topic
That's fine. Crash games are usually only fun for 1 playthrough anyways after 100 percentage, it's a nice game to own if having a vintage collection. I do think Crash Bandicoot 1 hasn't aged very well to be honest, as for Crash 2 and 3, man, I still get so much enjoyment out of those games, not sure why. As for Banjo-Kazooie I own it for n64, as well as Tooie, have not even played them yet, but I certainly should. About Rayman 2 I still get much enjoyment from that as well- Rayman really never gets old for me- reason why I'm still a fan. I think Naughty Dog was a great company with Crash and Jak & Daxter, but it just seems they're joining the generic crowd with Uncharted, which don't get me wrong, looks pretty good, but still. Rayman 3's replay value was pretty great for me, I enjoyed topping my way to #1 in my Country.

You really need to give them a go since you have them, Tooie still remains my favorite game to this day. I really wish they had 3D platformers like Banjo nowadays, I pretty much have to wait till the 3D Mario for Wii U to get my fix.
Re: Off Topic
@James You should give the 3 Spyro games for ps1 a go if you haven't already, open levels and lots to collect.

Re: Off Topic
Spyro 2 is certainly ranked as my 3rd favorite PS1 game of all time, next to Rayman 1 and 2 of course. Spyro 2 was a HUUUUUUUGEEE improvement from Spyro 1, Spyro 1 was a good game but it felt a little empty at times- a little dark and it felt like a chore having to 100%. Spyro 2 I had such a fun time completing beautiful environments to explore, incredible soundtrack, etc. Spyro 3 which was the last good Spyro game in the series was JUST as good as Spyro 2. It didn't feel better, it didn't feel worse, it was just the exact same, beautiful exploration, etc. everything was still there. Spyro 2 and 3 were incredible games.
Re: Off Topic
I pretty much agree, its hard to decide which is superior out of spyro 2 and 3. Alot of it comes down to your opinion on the extra playable characters in the 3rd, I personally like them all and added alot of fun, varied challenges to the game. Also Spyro 3 had skateboarding and it was pretty damn good, i also loved the missions which ahd you playing as Hunter in the speedways. I personally like Spyro 3 the best, however Spyro 2 had the MUCH better final boss and dragon shores was great.

I loved the new addition of characters in Spyro 3, especially Sheila. My least favorite though is Agent 9, I honestly weren't too fond of his stages.
