Wow, as rarely as I say this I actually agree with Canard on this one.
You might have a job telling that to the Tunblr Vegans© though. o3o

Yesterday I was speaking to some Texans who apparently enjoy hunting for fun, not food or clothes, at least once a day. Thoughts?Canard WC wrote:As concerns animals, killing them for food or clothes is not cruel if they are treated correctly and not made to unnecessarily suffer.

Re: Of the extermination of furfags
So they kill the animals and then they go to waste - they die for nothing? Disgraceful.

Re: Of the extermination of furfags
Personally I'm fine with hunting as long as the animals are not wasted. Which in my opinion includes hunting for food and clothes, but not trophy hunting.
Re: Of the extermination of furfags
Aye, hunting is deeply rooted into the Texan culture. I know many people at my school do it for fun.

Sick bastards.
On one end, the philosophy of gun ownership is understandable to a certain extent. On the other, this here is exactly why the way they enforce the philosophy is hypocritical in every sense.

How can you get so worked up over hunting? Have you ever considered the ridiculous number of animals that die every day?

Re: Of the extermination of furfags
Of course I have, does that somehow give us more of a valid reason to contribute to it if we don't need to?
You might want to also note that humans hunting has been the cause of many species going endangered and extinct, the majority of said hunting being a recreational activity.

Then what is the point in getting worked up about murderers, when you consider the ridiculous amount of humans that die every day?spiraldoor wrote:How can you get so worked up over hunting? Have you ever considered the ridiculous number of animals that die every day?
Re: Of the extermination of furfags
There is a big difference between an animal dying to keep humans in life and an animal dying because some idiotic dipshit thinks it'll make him seem manly.spiraldoor wrote:How can you get so worked up over hunting? Have you ever considered the ridiculous number of animals that die every day?

Who said anything about killing animals for survival? I was talking about the unimaginable number of animals that die in the wild from predators, wounds, starvation and pestilence. Hunting is a drop in the ocean and getting shot is one of the better ways to die.

We did, our conversation was killing for sport versus killing for survival.spiraldoor wrote:Who said anything about killing animals for survival? It seems like your're trying to claim that "Animals die all the time, so shooting the ones that are alive won't do anything; maybe they will die from a health cause years in the future, so I might as well shoot them now while they're young." Would it make a difference if they rarely died for the reasons you listed? I'd figure that the more death there is, the less we should contribute toward it. But is it really a miniature drop? I'll direct you to this, again:
Death may be widespread, but hunting like that is so focused on a few species in particular that it's almost like a plague of death spreading over that species. Sometimes hunting groups take out the animals in a small ecosystem that relies on them for survival, which then dooms the majority of the population within a massive radius. That's not uncommon either.Adsolution wrote:humans hunting has been the cause of many species going endangered and extinct
Though, none of that wavers the point about how killing for sport is stupid. Killing for fun is killing for fun. All you're doing is killing, nothing more, nothing less. Just killing.

Re: Of the extermination of furfags
I agree with hUnch on this; hunting for food and clothes I'm totally fine with, but trophy hunting I just find idiotic. What really gets me angry, though, is people who hunt tigers, rhinos, hippopotami and other endangered species for the purposes of providing Asians and New Age hippies with miracle cures for cancer and such. These people are both pointlessly killing endangered, protected animals and supporting a rotten industry. They sicken me.
And don't even get me started on practicioners of "alternative" medicine.

My father was an extremist in this category; his thoughts were too hypocritical to make any sense of.Tobbe wrote:And don't even get me started on practicioners of "alternative" medicine.

I'm interested in the 4chan involvement here. I want to see what they said. They posted in here? (reading the pirate community documentary)
