Nope, they also announced that any game during AND after the summer will be announced during a Nintendo Direct. That includes the New Mario game, Mario Kart and Smash Bros.
This Nintendo direct will be probably focused on announcing release dates for games like Wonderful 101.
Yes I heard about it. I gotta admit- it's pretty bullshit on Nintendo's part, but the people making money off doing LP's is ridiculous as well, I think both are a bit at fault.
Also the last Nintendo Direct sadly failed to impress me- except for Game and Wario, never been big on Pikmin.
Guess we'll just have to wait for E3 for the good stuff.
Must say, although I hate Mario & Sonic games, the graphics are pretty awesome. They're not the BIG innovation, but it's something that we always expected to see from Mario and friends. The graphics look like cutscenes for a Mario Sports game, and seem like a pretty nice evolution from the previous console.

Just imagining the next Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Mario 3d gives me the hypes!
Yeah the Mario and Sonic olympics series never impressed me, Nintendo's decision of remaking it for the wii-U just doesn't amaze me.
Speaking of Sonic, it turns out a new Sonic game is coming exclusively to wii-U called Sonic Lost Worlds. Lets hope it doesn't suck. Generations amazed me, so I don't want that to drop.
While I did like Sonic Colours (spelt Colors here in America, but not much Americans on this site, so I'll say Colours), the game did have some truly stunning level design, the one thing I disliked was that most of the game stuck to 2d. Like you start out a level in a 3d section feeling great, all of a sudden you transition to 2d, which isn't bad considering Generations did it, but Colours did it WAY too fucking often, making it so 75% of the level will just be blocky platforming, which gets in the way of speed. Luckily Sonic Colours beautiful atmosphere somewhat makes up for it.
PC gaming for the win. I don't have to deal with the bullshit werehog stages because they have an Unleashed mod for Generations which contains the levels from Sonic Unleashed day time.
I think Sonic all together has never been as good as people praise it, from the first game. Don't get me wrong, I love the original Genesis games, and I happen to own a Mega Drive which I used to play the games on a lot, but I've always found that Sonic's famous speed is what ruins the gameplay. The original games contain a lot of platforming, and it never feels satisfying because the controls are meant to work in a way that he quickly gains speed, making much of the difficulty of the game exist purely because of feeling unstable. I'd much rather play Mario Bros. with tight controls that move like you want them to. And modern Sonic still has that. Your always jumping too far and fast then you want to, and it just gets irritating. I'm not a huge fan of 3D Sonic but that is what really makes Colours and Generations stand out.
Unleashed day stages were pretty good too, but if you were to play the game without the Werehog stages, doesn't that still mean that is forces you to watch the shitty cutscenes and do the fucking atrocious town stuff?
