I'm not not-calm, nor am I attacking you. I swear a lot; I wasn't raised very politely.

Yeah, of course, I was just being picky about how a "console offering exclusives" technically means that companies choose to develop only for the PlayStation consoles, when in reality that isn't the case so much. It's just wording. Nevermind.
You know, it's not hating at all, Ad has some serious issues with seizures and stuff. Even Nintendo Land manages to hurt his eyes, and those colours aren't even that bright. I don't even think the trailer was THAT flashy, but well, that's Ad's visual sensitivity. Not his fault at all.
This is like... a teaser to a teaser based on a previous teaser. Sony could simply show us the damn console but they're just playing around with their fans, acting like total attention whores. It's not being mysterious anymore, it's being a total jerk.
The design? heck... WE CAN'T FUCKING SEE IT. We can't say it's just a square, there's probably something better hidden behind those sexually teasing blurry pixels. But we can't figure out because Sony is being a total asshole. Probably they don't have much to show at E3 besides the games that they already announced, and they'll spend their time just showing the console.

It's not really an excuse to make such a poor trailer. You can make a good, intelligent teaser that would actually intrigue us with its elaborate design, but instead we get this piece of crap that looks like pasted together in five minutes… that also is really unnecessarily harsh on the eyes for a large chunk of people on this planet (yes, I know it isn't a problem for most people, but is it really that difficult to make something that suits everyone?). It's recklessness upon sheer laziness that this teaser demonstrates.
Yes, by the way, I am passing harsh judgement on a pre-teaser; there's nothing that tells me I shouldn't. Every bit of the buildup is important, and sucking just this much on one of their first bits of official presentation is kind of embarrassing.

It may just be a black box, but in one of the images that flashes, there appears to be some kind of angular edge which kinda makes me think of the Sega Master System (But it doesn't look as huge). Then there are some sassy lines... quite a lot of grey parts... I have a feeling that this is gonna look strange.
People don't like change. The new PS4 controller is already very controversial.
No wonder why Wii U looks almost exactly like a Wii, but with slightly stylized and rounded corners.

I had to close my eyes during the last 15 seconds too.
This trailer was boring. It was trying to be cool, but it didn't show squat and in the end, we know nothing about the console. It's supposed to add intrigue, but the way this was done, it only adds hype for the smaller children, I guess.
Maybe that's the point though.

Could that have actually backfired? Could there have been less confusion if Ninty decided to go with a different design, or was the marketing that insufficient?
I sometimes wonder what they were thinking when conceptualising the Wii U.
Personally, I'm not too bothered about how a console looks, just as long as it's functional.

Highly, that is.

Hey brother, high-five.

If I had to imagine a world where nothing would ever change... damn, that thought alone kills me from the inside. I usually have liked change and experimenting with things that come with it.
The problem isn't the design. The problem isn't probably the name either.
The problem is that Nintendo gave way too much focus on promoting the gamepad alone for the last 2 E3 conferences.
A friend of mine was incredibly hyped about the Wii U and wanted to buy it. I told her then that I bought a Wii U and she got excited. Then some days later I told her that I sold my Wii, and she got pissed at me. "NOW HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO PLAY THE WII U?!".
Get my point? even some people who are hyped about the Wii U still think that it's just a controller.
Ah, I've discussed the Wii U with some people as well, and it appears the controller is indeed the major point of confusion, but I don't think having a similarly shaped box helped much.
Just to veer off temporarily, I recall you were talking about Other M a while back, what are your thoughts?
I think it's okay, maybe the fact that a guy has control over Samus makes it irritating, and the controls aren't that good. I think the nunchuk could have helped a lot. The graphics are pretty, the gameplay is entertaining... but it's just not an experience I would want to go back to.
Still I don't understand what's the problem with developing Samus' personality. Fans just want a cold Super Sand Lesbian instead of some interesting character development. This takes place before Metroid Prime... she's supposed to be weaker.
In conclusion, it's not a bad game, but it's certainly my least favorite from the series. Team Ninja is just... I don't know, they're a mediocre company, I think the Ninja Gaiden series is mediocre, so I don't know what did Nintendo think by letting such an important series fall in the hands of people like this.
Actually, Other M takes place after Super, and thus, before Fusion, the Prime series takes place in between Metroid 1 and 2, atleast, that's what I've read and seen.
Personally, although I haven't played the game, I don't mind some of the character development at all, Other M seems to take some of the backstory of the canon Metroid Manga and implements so that gamers can see her backstory, however, if there was one thing that annoys me about this, is that they don't make mention of the Chozo, Adam wasn't the only father figure Samus had.
Of course, the two scenes that those who despise this game latch onto is the Sector 0 and Ridley scenes...I don't know what to make of them.
How's the exploration in Other M? One thing I've liked about the Metroid series is the ability to go anywhere you want, as long as you have the right power-ups, from what I've heard, Other M seems to be much more linear akin to Fusion. I agree with the fact that Other M could've made use of the Nunchuk, a 3D game on a D-Pad is a little awkward in this age.
I think, one day, I'll try out Other M for myself, just so I can figure it out for myself where it truly lies to me.
