Well, okay then. But first I want to know if there's a solution to this error message I got:
Failed to open the CD/DVD image C:\Users\GNineify\Documents\Emulators\X17-24208.iso.

Could not get the storage format of the medium 'C:\Users\GNineify\Documents\Emulators\X17-24208.iso' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).

I don't use Virtual Box so I don't know. I will make Windows 7 iso tomorrow and upload it on MEGA

Why not just go to one of the many torrent sites available and download Windows 7 like that?

http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/7049713/ ... T_Included_

Or, if that doesn't work:

http://proxybay.net/torrent/7049713/Win ... T_Included_

Never tried those since I own already activated Windows 7 on disc. Anyways is it possible to Emulate Windows 8 games on Windows 7 without emulating whole operation system. I would love to run Rayman Jungle Run and upcomming Ty The Tasmanian Tiger on Windows 7 without Virtual machine

I fail to see how that post is of any relevance or use to OldClassicGamer.
I don't think that's possible, OCG (is it OK if I call you that for short?).

No, you cannot emulate Windows 8 store apps on Windows 7. You really need Windows 8 for that.

That sucks, because those apps are not killer graphics games that requiere monster PC, so Emulating them could work in theory. I hope someone will make emulator for Windows 8 apps, just like BlueStacks Emulates Android apps (its still in beta so it's not that fast for some games but it is a start)

I think OCG doesn't want to resort to having to use a VM just to play a few Metro Apps.

Android is open source... that's why it was possible to make an app player for Android. Windows is not open source, so I don't see this happening. Only Microsoft could make these apps run on Windows 7... and I don't think they're going to do that, because that would remove one of the major selling points of Windows 8.

If you want to run Windows 8 apps, I don't see why a VM is such a bad solution. But if that VM isn't working, and you really want to run those apps, you can also set up a dual-boot mechanism: you'll be able to have 2 operating systems on your PC (not running simultaneously) and when you start your PC you can choose what OS you want to use that session. See http://www.extremetech.com/computing/14 ... -windows-7.

Although...

If that's true, beware: a dual-boot setup is an even more "extreme" method because you'll have 2 partitions on your hard disk, each with a different OS installed. If you wanna stay in the W7 environment and run Windows 8 apps from there... a VM is the best solution.

I have an XP installation on one of my hard drives solely dedicated to playing Rayman 1 and Designer with music, so yeah, it isn't really much of a hassle at all if you know what you're doing. Having installed both Windows 7 and 8 countless times on my own and others' computers, I can estimate the installation time to take anywhere between half an hour and two hours. If you happen to have a solid-state drive, now that'll probably max you out at around a twenty-minute install.

But... I have R1 in DOSBox on Windows 7 and it plays the music just fine.

lolwut how

Well, whatever, at least XP supports some very old sound card configurations, allowing me to run the game with no sound delay or sound stuttering.

I use the GOG version of the game, they configured everything correctly. I can upload the "dosboxRayman.conf" file if you want... if you use that config file it might work for you too.
