Nay, but people wanting Ly to be playable instead of *insert shitty character here* dates back to 2001-ishOldClassicGamer wrote:Other people discussed about it before?Rulez wrote:Here we go again.OldClassicGamer wrote:It would be better if Ly was playable

Anyways, I hope for DLC's that will make her playable alongside with other familiar faces from older games.

I'm not a terribly big fan of her either, but I do like Estela, mainly because she looks like a skeleton and skeleton's are cool.OldClassicGamer wrote:Finally I found someone who does not like her as well. It would be better if Ly was playable instead of her. No disrespect to people who like Barbara.

Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah, it helps the characters stand out against the detailed background because they're much more simplified in color and design, and therefore more eye-catching. I think that's what I like so far about the art style for Rayman Origins as well as Legends. Although, Legends has the characters more painterly now (which I love), they're still simple enough to stand out against the backgrounds.
Also, when you're animating characters for a short that's 2-D, you can't really afford to have the characters just as detailed and complex as the background. They'd blend right in and it'd be a nightmare for the animators to keep up with. It also helps that the characters are painted on celluloid. Saves time, money, and energy.

Re: Rayman Legends
Celluloids (or cels) are transparent sheets with the current animation frame drawn on them that you then overlay onto the background:

Hence the term 'cel-shading.'

Re: Rayman Legends
My favorite character is either Rayman or the Grand Minimus. But in RO and RL teensies are a bit annoying because of the sound effect that they have when jumping and their weird voices. I would rather have them have their squeaky voice back.
My favorite world so far... I don't think I have one. Maybe the spying thing.
And I think the art change was a good change and a great progression. I wanna think this is Ubisoft preparing the engine for a fully 3D Rayman game.

Agreed, but I also agree with Earth Gwee. If the characters had more detail, they would "get lost" in the background, it wouldn't be that eye catching.TeensieKing wrote:

OK, if they make a really cool Rabbids level, if they throw out all the toilet humour and other crap, if it's only a single extra level like you said... then I don't mind. The prospect of fighting Rabbids doesn't really excite me. It's kinda... meh. Do you have a link to a video or something of that original concept? If I see it I might understand your eagerness to see original Rabbids... right now I have no idea what it would be like.

Back in the days, that was pretty badass.
... Except for the Goth girl, that was fucked up from the beginning.

I was about 9 when that was released, I was pretty excited, even with the weird dance gimmick, which looking back, could have foreshadowed the increased insanity that the franchise now has.
Re: Rayman Legends
I was 14 if I am not in error, it made me happy to see that a Rayman 4 was on the making, this back in my four years hiatus from the franchise.

Re: Rayman Legends
Thanks spiral!
I dunno... those big war machines look cool, but the Rabbids themselves didn't really do anything in the vids. They were just standing still... it's hard to get excited about that.
I get the feeling the Rabbids in those vids were 1 second away from shouting "BWAAAAH!" and then acting just as silly as the Rabbids in the real Rabbids games.
