Re: Rayman Legends
does anyone think that there will be a world styled like the dojo mode in the challenges app? they made a whole new theme, so i don't think they would just use it for a few challenges... besides, a mystical chinese world sounds pretty legendary to me!

Re: Rayman Legends
At this point I'd doubt it. I saw the demon monsters in the Vita trailer, and they were in what looked like a medieval level, and, aside from the one music stage, the Land of the Livid Dead is made completely out of new assets.globolk wrote:does anyone think that there will be a world styled like the dojo mode in the challenges app? they made a whole new theme, so i don't think they would just use it for a few challenges... besides, a mystical chinese world sounds pretty legendary to me!

Yes though, I do think an expansion upon that would be nice. I love Asian architecture.

Re: Rayman Legends
The Dojo isn't really like Mystical Pique, it's more of a Japanese like area, with Pagodas and stuff like that in the background.Adsolution wrote:So Mystical Piqué?

Also I wish they'd put up another Dojo challenge soon.

Re: Rayman Legends
Most....fucking.....bizarre enemies in ANY Rayman game. Seriously those things have the most fucked up design I've ever seen in the series. You touch them and spikes come out of everywhere, including their mouth and eyeholes. Those things are fucking gross. Can anyone take a screenshot of those things showing their spikes? I left my Wii U at my uncle's house so I can't. But god... those things are horrible.Bionichute wrote: At this point I'd doubt it. I saw the demon monsters in the Vita trailer

I think you mean the best.sergiomonty wrote:those things are horrible.
And nobody's going to be able to take a screenshot of one until the next Dojo challenge comes out, and considering there's only been one in the 2 months since this thing started, I doubt it will be soon.

Re: Rayman Legends
yeah, either the china world won't exist, or they put those enemies in the COMPLETELY WRONG LEVEL!Bionichute wrote:At this point I'd doubt it. well, they're both pretty similar, but mystique pique was more, munk-ish (?). a chinese world would have palaces, bamboo forests maybe, and climbing mountains!Adsolution wrote:So Mystical Piqué?globolk wrote:does anyone think that there will be a world styled like the dojo mode in the challenges app? they made a whole new theme, so i don't think they would just use it for a few challenges... besides, a mystical chinese world sounds pretty legendary to me!

yeah, they weren't very well designed...sergiomonty wrote:Most....fucking.....bizarre enemies in ANY Rayman game. Seriously those things have the most fucked up design I've ever seen in the series. Re: Rayman Legends
I've made a close up and finally realized...

THOSE AREN'T THEIR EYES!
those are their horns. I didn't see the small yellow eyes in the lower area, I thought they were just two rotten buckteeth or something. The design is not creepy at all.
In fact, I thought they looked like this:

They seem to be inspired by the Oni, a creature from japanese folklore.

Re: Rayman Legends
WOW! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! i thought the same thing you did, that the horns were their eyes! now it's not as weird! :] and actually, now that you think about it, those things can pretty much be in any world! they were in a medieval level in the vita trailer, and now it doesn't seem as odd! they could become like darktoons in RO! i don't know, it seems like there will be a chinese/japanese world... they made a background, music, an enemy! it seems so obvious...sergiomonty wrote:I've made a close up and finally realized...

I don't blame you for thinking it looked like the drawing on the bottom. Especially if you squint your eyes at the real thing.

Aw man, now I'm disappointed. I always knew they were eyes and I just never noticed the spikes coming out from them. OH WELL

I don't think they look like Oni particularly, Oni are usually depicted with rather large noses. I really don't know what that thing looks like honestly.sergiomonty wrote:They seem to be inspired by the Oni, a creature from japanese folklore.

Re: Rayman Legends
Dang this is a really nice idea... I'd love to see an Asian world!globolk wrote:does anyone think that there will be a world styled like the dojo mode in the challenges app? they made a whole new theme, so i don't think they would just use it for a few challenges... besides, a mystical chinese world sounds pretty legendary to me!

Guys, what is the first time we ever heard of the Dojo? Wasn't it the challenge app reveal vid? I have a theory... why are Dojo challenges extremely rare? Maybe because an Asian themed world wasn't originally planned to be included in the game. Maybe they decided to make that world after the WiiU version was delayed. The Asian world could contain part of those 30 new levels they are adding.
If that's true, the Asian world is really a brand new idea and they wouldn't have a lot of assets (such as graphics) for the Asian world yet. That may be why the Dojo challenges are so rare... they might still be working on creating that world. The other worlds, such as the Land of the Livid Dead, had already been created long before they designed the challenge app, so it was easy to build challenges for those worlds.

I'll just leave this here in case no one has read it. It seems the developer of the Vita port is none other than Ubisoft Casablanca. Let's just hope this port turns out good.

Re: Rayman Legends
Ubisoft Casablanca? Well what's wrong with that? Have they made crappy ports in the past or something?
Re: Rayman Legends
Yes, they have made dozens of god-awful ports and some even worse original games. Here are just some of the titles that stand out on their catalog:
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of The Movie

Can this even be considered a video game?

Rayman Raving Rabbids

Rayman 3D

Rayman Origins

Aren't they also behind the poor excuse for an HD remake, that is Rayman 3 HD?
