Yes, I played Pac-Man World on PS1 in my childhood. It was really good, and now they are making horrible cartoon and new game that is just terrible. Pac-Man is for some reason kid and he just has food obsession. In older games he was Family man. If you are not a Pac-Man fan, then you really can't understand how this game ruined childhoods of many Pac-Man fans. Pac-Man as a boy? Are you insane for thinking thats better? His name is Pac-MAN, not Pac-Boy. Pac-Man was perfect in Pac-Man World trilogy so this change was really stupid. I am probably gonna do a Let's Play of this new game when it comes out but mostly to show people why not to buy it. In my opinion, as a non-Pac-Man fan, they fixed the aesthetics a lot. As I saw in the trailer, the character seems a lot more interesting in terms of design. In terms of marketing, I think it's better to have Pac-man as a boy than a grown man... When I was younger, I just had the feeling that Pac-Man was just an old guy instead of an actual hero.
Also, the newest game seems to follow the "transform-to-advance" formula from Rayman 3, Mario Galaxy and Sonic Colours. If they manage to do the right moves, maybe they could come up with a great game.
I saw the TV show... and yeah, it is god awful... but so was the original TV show.
The game still has a chance to be at least decently good. If it is, I'm gonna buy it.
You could have not said it better. At least, Pac-Man in Pac-Man World was focusing more on platforming then just eating non-stop.
