I've never thought of any Jewish heritage in me. Most likely I don't have any or just a little...

Jews in my blood? I wouldn't be surprised, but at the same time, I don't think there are any that I can think of.

@Ad Wow, that's really interesting to learn about.

As everybody knows in here, I'm portuguese. I don't think I have close relatives of other countries.

Because I am really bored and thet's the reason I digged up those family documents =P
It's indeed pretty awesome but that doesn't mean I'm not bored as fuck

Researching your family's past is awesome, I believe. I don't have any old documents or anything, so I don't have that opportunity.

I have to agree with Rulez, it sounds like you have some pretty cool ancestry there, Ikke.

Both sides of my family are convinced they have French roots, for a start my middle name (Eleanor) was taken from my mum's nan who's apparently like half French or something, IDK.

My ancestors were very involved in the war: My grandfather (German) was a high-ranking Nazi, who actually worked against them and freed a bunch of prisoners, granting him the title of a war hero; due to having one of his destroyed in the War, he now wears a glass eye. I recall when I was about nine or so, when I was at his apartment, the authorities came through the door, attempting to gain information from him. - My great-grandfather, his father, was also a veteran of World War I.

My great-grandmother (Russian, his wife's mother), was actually related to the Grand Duchess Anastasia. What form of relation I do not know, and whether it was through blood or not, it was a friendship at the very least. If it were through blood then, that means that I may have a very thin essence of Queen Victoria's blood running through my veins.
So did it turn out you're not adopted then?

I've found an answer, but I don't know if it still counts as 'adoption' when you consider the technical meaning of the word. My parents gave me to the orphanage when I was only a few months old, then took me back when I was five. It's clearly because of their sports, because that's more important, of course, than having a child that can look you in the eyes and call you mum.

At least I can say that I lived in Norway for five years. A lovely place it is!

Your little soap opera started off quite intriguing, but finding out that you were adopted by your own biological parents is quite an anticlimax. 6/10

How can I got baited even partially by this story? You threw it with last comment :\/.

Full French family, all my grandparents are French, as my parents are. Seems my great grandparents too. Not quite particular ancestors.

Narvik I believe. I also recall at one point being in a Summery place, and after searching various sites, I'm going to take a guess at it being Mandal, as the beach rings a bell and there don't seem to be many large beaches in Norway.

Yeah, it's not exactly what I'd hoped for. I would've preferred something interesting to tell the children!

For some reason I find the concept of so many ancestors hailing from the same ethnicity an extremely unlikely circumstance, regardless of the fact that it happens to so many. I suppose that's mostly to do with the fact that I live in Canada though, as everyone in NA comes from a billion different backgrounds. In America though, I've often refrained from asking the question, because the most common response I hear with my own ears is 'the American race.'

Maybe because tons of people there have ancestors from Indian tribes. :D

Yeah I know, too easy...I'm leaving.
