Ah, I guess therein lies our differences, try out Zero Mission and see how that does for you, it's much more straightforward than Super and isn't as convoluted as the NES and GB games.OldClassicGamer wrote:I tried older Metroid games (NES, SNES, GameBoy)
I have not played new ones.
I liked original DKC better then Super Metroid because of the theme. The feel of DKC is what I prefer. Music, Jungle...
I've always preferred the more moody and atmospherical Metroid over DKC, to each their own.

Well, this is certainly no fault of the game itself. Guess haters are gonna hate.sergiomonty wrote: There's a lot of haters of that game, just because Retro spent its time on it and not Metroid. However, I find myself enjoying the franchise. Retro is certainly better than Rare in many aspects. I want this game, it's pretty looking, it's wacky, the camera angles are awesome, and the character design is pure genius.
I never played the other Donkey Kong Country games, just the first time. Maybe I should give the other two a try.
Re: E3 2013
Try the DKC Returns on Wii or 3DS. It is a superb game

it's not, you just need to be more strategic.Haruka wrote:The co-op in Metroid Blast is quite good with 2 players, I can tell you. Now for Zelda, it is almost impossible to play...Rayfist wrote:Nintendo Land I only find fun for 2 players.
Technically, it is, although "fault" might not the be the best word to describe it. Retro studios didn't know if they wanted to do another Metroid or another DKC. The decided to continue the DKC series because they thought there was unfinished work with the franchise, probably they didn't feel satisfied with the previous game (which was pretty awesome, Retro is just like that).Hoodcom wrote: Well, this is certainly no fault of the game itself. Retro has the best studio name.

Re: E3 2013
The story of Retro is a most intriguing one indeed, Metroid Prime was their make or break game, if they didn't make it with Prime 1, I don't think the name Retro would have ever been associated with the consistent quality we now know today.

I will have to agree with you.

Re: E3 2013
Retro is complicated. It's one of Nintendo's most respected companies, they just make such epic games. For some reason, though, one of the most important developers of the Metroid Prime series said that those games sucked and that he didn't feel satisfied with them at all. The franchise is one of the most acclaimed, and he said he wanted more. He's so visionary... but sadly, he left retro a few months ago.
Re: E3 2013
Me neither until around November, where I got hold of the Wii game, that is probably one of the best titles for the console. I however got told that the SNES games are much better.Hoodcom wrote:

Nah. Just nostalgia. The original series were great games, but DKCR just explodes in originality.Haruka wrote:Me neither until around November, where I got hold of the Wii game, that is probably one of the best titles for the console. Re: E3 2013
As one who owns DKCR, and the original 3, I really truly think the originals are much better, and not just for nostalgia, it was very colorful in my opinion and had much more polished music and detailed levels. Don't believe me about the music?sergiomonty wrote:Nah. Just nostalgia. this is much more better than anything I heard on DKCR
Check out levels such as the carnival, I think the amount of detail put into the snes version really shows what it could do, it still does looks gorgeous to this day.

You are missing out not playing them. I recommand trying them out on Emulator or WiiWare.Haruka wrote:Me neither until around November, where I got hold of the Wii game, that is probably one of the best titles for the console. I however got told that the SNES games are much better.Hoodcom wrote:

Re: E3 2013
Or buy an original copy, I own the whole trilogy. I think you're truly missing out Haruka- it's seriously one of the best SNES games. Donkey Kong Country 3 though wasn't all that great. 1 and 2 though were certainly mind-blowing. I think it's a MUCH better series than Returns, that is a promise.OldClassicGamer wrote:You are missing out not playing them. Re: E3 2013
Well, she could buy original copy which would be best thing to do (collecting FTW) but I don't think I remember she listed SNES on her console list.

Re: E3 2013
Get it on virtual console than, for that cheap of a price- it's totally worth it. Or you can homebrew your wii to hack and play all these for free, like I did a long time ago so I could play Earthbound.
Re: E3 2013
Homebrewing Wii was the best thing I ever did with mine. I unlocked the unlimited power and potential the console possessed. Region Free was the best thing included.

You've homebrewed your Wii, eh?
Which System Software was it when you modded? Was it softmod or hardmod?
