Re: E3 2013
Not sure, my buddy Garrett did it for me, in all honesty I often don't like hacking or homebrewing but I was SO desperate at the time to play Earthbound (this is before I actually owned it), and I didn't regret it one bit.
Re: E3 2013
Of course I homebrewed my Wii. I cannot stand to have Region Locked console since I am Import Gamer. I hope to homebrew my 3DS soon since that is the only Region Locked Console I have right now. All others either use adapters (NES, N64) or are modded or Region Free by default (Sony FTW)
My Wii It is both Hard and Soft modded on latest system firmware, and I use application called PimpMyWii to keep up with some IOS updates that are needed for newest games (LOL, they are called IOS).

Re: E3 2013
Mine was Softmodded via LetterBomb exploit, the homebrew world has never been so easily accessed (well, besides the Pandora trick on PSP).
Re: E3 2013
I have homebrew on one of my Wii's. Only ever used it to get custom tracks on Mario Kart Wii though. Oh and to play some really shitty cooking game.
About DCKR, I don't think it's any worse then the originals. My only complaint might be that the difficulty often includes those kind of sections that seem like they were designed for you to just die and die and die forever, like the bat chase that easily requires at least 15 tries to get the pattern correct.

Re: E3 2013
I have a question. Since I don't know about exploits much (I never used them since I did not need them), do you need to run that exploit game every time you want to activate a hack? And what do you do to make normal game start instead of hack?
Re: E3 2013
Yes, you need the game.
You need to activate the exploit via Riivolution or some other program.

Re: E3 2013
I wonder how will homebrew work on 3DS.

Re: E3 2013
Well DKCR isn't bad by any means, I just think the originals are MUCH more worth someones time, and much better
Re: E3 2013
Yeah. DKCR had awesome CO-OP.

You piece of pirate shit. I'm gonna find you and then I'm gonna fucking destroy you. Yeah, not even just "kill" you, I MEAN DESTROY YOU.OldClassicGamer wrote:Of course I homebrewed my Wii. Just kidding, but bleh... I just dislike piracy, even if the dang thing is region locked, not purchasing an original copy still counts as not supporting the provider.
Re: E3 2013
What made you think I don't purchase original copy? Once I homebrew the system, I put original disc inside from another region and it works.
Re: E3 2013
Sadly Rayman Arena (GC) is a reason for why I wished that my Wii was originally a region-free console. I don't feel liking to homebrew it in purpose but all I can do is waiting for a massive improvement in the emulation that allows a flawless gameplay in the computer.
Re: E3 2013
For GameCube games, you can use swap trick with GameCube Freeloader disc or Action Replay.

Re: E3 2013
I would prefer to buy in Nintendo's Virtual Console (since I own Paper Mario and Mario Kart 64 legally on my Wii) or to get the GBA's original cartridges. I had lots of recomendations to try out the SNES franchise though.Rayfist wrote:Get it on virtual console than, for that cheap of a price- it's totally worth it.
Re: E3 2013
WHAT? So if OCG wants to play a japanese version of a game as he already owns the console on which he could have played it normally, he's forced to buy the same console in another region?sergiomonty wrote:I just dislike piracy, even if the dang thing is region locked, not purchasing an original copy still counts as not supporting the provider.
I don't call it supporting the provider, but being robbed. If you bought the game and the console, even if they aren't from the same region, you already supported them so this isn't piracy. Damn, review the definition

GBA versions were not that great. I personally call them a bad ports.Haruka wrote:I would prefer to buy in Nintendo's Virtual Console (since I own Paper Mario and Mario Kart 64 legally on my Wii) or to get the GBA's original cartridges. I agree so much with this. Why would I buy same console 2 times just from different Region? Its waste of money, space, and TV Connection. Thankfully, Sony realized that Region Locking is the stupidest idea ever, and they stopped Region Locking their products after PS2.saerleiya wrote:WHAT? I never played the other Donkey Kong Country games, just the first time. Maybe I should give the other two a try.
