That's what I figured may have been the case.

With that in mind, I think the NTSC GameCube version is undoubtedly the best when it comes to the game as a whole.

Just like the PS2 sold better than the Gamecube.

Many will disagree, but I much preferred the GameCube's library. It's also the more powerful system.

I heared that GameCube was actually the most powerful system in 6th generation. Is that true? Is GameCube even stronger then Original Xbox?

I agree, and I'm a sucker for PS2. Nintendo was at one of their most creative periods, not making usual Mario games and trying new things. Some were better then others, but I feel like I'd much rather have them put out a not that fantastic Wario World instead of staying saving with another New Super Mario Bros. I like Nintendo, still, buy their games and consoles, and 3D World looks like a great game, but it's still them trying to stay really save and not taking a single risk. Super Mario Sunshine was, and it has mixed opinions, and I somewhat feel like they've lost that touch.

I'm not saying they don't make good games anymore, Dark Moon was brilliant, but it seems like they've gone from always wanting to put out a great game to releasing very simple titles and now then they'll throw in something else like Other M or Epic Yarn.

I also agree with this. Although the PS2 was one of the most best-selling and popular home consoles of the whole time, I prefer by far the Nintendo GameCube library. Examples? Mario's games, Super Smash Bros Melee, Zelda's games, Pokémon Collosseum/XD: Gale of Darkness, Starfox Adventures, and the list keeps going on.

For the PS2 library, I can only point the Ratchet and Clank's main games, probably one or two of Crash Bandicoot and the trilogy of Sly Racoon. Nothing else in the console's library interests me at all. (I'm obviously excluding here the three released Rayman games for the system)

Talking about Super Mario Sunshine, I don't know what was Nintendo thinking when they came up with the Blue Coins and the Secret Worlds idea. This was one of the most frustrating Mario games I've ever played and tried to complete (impossible without a guide, I ensure you).

Super Mario Sunshine is in my opinion worst 3D Mario game. I did not like setting of the game, story, and it was definitely frustrating. Mario's job is not cleaning trash :pascontent: I always tell people to skip Sunshine and go from Super Mario 64 to Galaxy.

GameCube had a great library of games including Super Smash Bros Melee, Double Dash (my favorite in the series) and Windwaker and is for sure my second favorite console of that generation, however the Jak games, Ratchet and Clank, Kingdom hearts and Sly Cooper as well as more third party support result in the PS2 being the winner for me.

I swear I'm the only one who liked Sunshine. :| It just works for me. The world, the music, the gameplay. In terms of "exploration and open world" Sunshine has much more interesting places to go around then 64, although I won't argue 64 is superior. And it being the first console game I ever played probably plays a role in that too.

Sometimes I think OCG may be a little obsessed with the PlayStation/PlayStation 2 era.

We're talking about the GCN era and no one mentions that it was host to the glorious revival of the Metroid franchise? For shame.
I can't really comment on the GCN, I've never played on one, but I'll admit, it was host to some brilliant titles, and the fact that I missed out on Metroid Prime, having played it now, almost makes me regret not owning one.
Of course, I still played and enjoyed many PS2 games, including Revolution, so, each to their own.

Cant really blame the guy, the ps1-ps2 era was indeed an excellent time for gaming, but sometimes I feel his nostalgia goggles seem to be on abit too tight and a dominant characteristic of his, judging by his sig :P But yeah Metroid Prime is an atmospheric masterpiece... I should really get back to playing that. I got stuck somewhere if I recall, can be quite confusing at times with all the back tracking. Great game nonetheless!

If there's anywhere to be stuck, it'll probably be the Phazon Mines.

I started off with MS-DOS and the NES, so my nostalgia could focus on that era... but I'm a loser with money, so I've gone and got more awesomeness outside of what I grew up with as a kid, and enjoyed every bit of it. 8)

Just looked that up on YouTube and don't think I made it there. The bad thing is I don't recall what i was supposed to do last, so when I boot up my save (which will be in some random location whilst I wandered helplessly) if I recall theres no hints or objective markers where to go (could be wrong) so I may just start again or trail through countless walkthroughs to kick-start my memory :(

Just keep at it for a bit, unless you've disabled it, the hint system should kick in and point out where you're meant to go.
Just to get a feel for whereabouts you are, what suit upgrades have you got?
