I stopped playing the challenges one month ago, it was getting incredibly tedious and with predictible traps. I'm currently doing a break and waiting for the full Rayman Legends game, for a better enjoyment.

Wow Haruka, I quit for about two weeks now and I was here thinking "Haruka is probably whooping my ass right now in the challenges since I'm missing out"

I agree, challenges are getting far too tedious. Since I have the game pre-ordered, may as well wait.

I played the first month and a half strictly, by not missing any challenge and replaying to ensure Gold Cups, but this couldn't avoid getting boring pretty quickly. Land of the Livid Dead, Neverending Pit, Land of the Livid Dead, Neverending Pit, Land of the Livid Dead, Neverending Pit, Land of the Livid Dead, Neverending Pit... I was getting fed up for real, especially when the traps were being all the same thing over and over.

Maybe they could deliver a new season of challenge apps or something? With an entirely different set of levels for the challenge app.

In the complete game, I hope that there will be more differents environments in the challenges.

So I was thinking, if Rayman Legends gets released for the PC (Which it probably will) Haruka is definitely going to do a playthrough of it. It took 124 videos to cover Rayman Origins, with the time trials and characters being split into separate videos, and the game only had 60 something levels. Rayman Legends, on the other hand, will have 120 levels, probably double that of Rayman Origins. It will probably also have time trials, which will also have to be split into separate videos, and more characters, which will also be split into different videos. I think Haruka might have to make two separate playlists for the game, considering Youtube still has that 200 video limit for playlists.

Just a random thought I had.

The problem is that many of these franchises stick too much to their old ideas. Rayman had major changes done to the basic formula, for much better results.

If they had tried to force Rayman 1's gameplay into 3D, they'd just be pulling a Sonic, maybe even a Bubsy.
i'd rather not speak of bubsy. :beurk:

You're not like me, then. I play the challenges app every day, though I do admit, it is getting pretty boring, especially after the 50th time you've played the Neverending Pit.

I have a few Murfy related things to talk about here. One, has it been confirmed that you can play as Murfy in every level, or can you only play as him in some levels? It feels like I could get a lot more Lums in Toad Story (Or the first level of Toad Story, that is) if I had Murfy and could get some extra Lums from things.

Two, We've only seen two Murfy centered levels, the Deadly Lights and Once Upon A Time, but we have seen both of their paintings, and they both have Murfy on them, so I'm guessing that all the other Murfy levels will have Murfy on their paintings.

And Three, I got a new kitten and named it Murfy.
yeah it has been confirmed that you can play as murfy in ANY level. (multiplayer only!) and yes you get MANY more lums with murfy on toad story. whacking the toads and fish in the foreground and painting lums and fungi.

Ok, good. I was going to play through the game with my Mom playing as Murfy, and I didn't know if you could play as him in every level. BTW Globolk, I actually really look forward to you posting in this thread, because you usually have something interesting/useful to know about the game. My only problem is your lack of punctuation, but you don't have to do that if you keep finding cool stuff.

But yeah I totes got a kitten and named it Murfy. He's the cutest thing ever.

One month and a half doesn't count as "very quickly" in my opinion, at least for a platformer, considering that you can beat Rayman Origins in... let's say... two days, or even one day if you can handle the madness. It is actually strong replay value, specially for an app that wasn't supposed to come out without the main game included. Also, remember that one of the things that kept us playing with enthusiasm during the first weeks was the lum system, that kept us coming back for more unlockable characters.

Sure, saying this won't make the challenges app "amazing" again, I'm just trying to remark this so people in the future don't say "Geez, Rayman Legends' online was sooo lame and had no replay value" because that wasn't the case when the app was originally released :P

By the looks of my funds, I'm probably going to pre-order Rayman Legends for Xbox until I raise enough for a Wii U. I'd love to the play the Challenge App, though considering that you have to have a subscription to Xbax Live (which I do not really want to do), I'd go to an Nintendo system for online play.

@Sergio Well, at least I held for a good portion of time, but it had to become dry sooner or later.

@Bionichute You have a good point, if that happened I would need to create two playlists divided in parts. And when I manage to grab the pirated copy (I won't be able to afford it due to more important reasons) don't expect it to have the walkthrough done quickly. I'm planning in finding for a temporary job to do in the next months to earn enough to candidate myself in the Beaux-Arts university next year, and all these circunstances will make the walkthroughs very very slow. Hence the hiatus I've started in the walkthrough department of my channel. I however invite people to record walkthroughs for the Wii U/PS3/360/Vita.

I will do PS3 version Let's Play the day 1 I get the game but quality will not be so good :(
It will be similar how I showed gameplay of Japanese Rayman Revolution on my PS2 with camera. I don't have money for Capture Card and I will not getting it any time soon.

As long as you know how to keep a camera still :p

Anyways like I said, a PC version of Legends is extremely likely, I totally see it happening after the console releases, trust me.

If I had a capture card, I would have done a Let's Play of Rayman Origins, Rayman 2, and probably a bunch of other Rayman games.

Anyway, I found this neat piece of concept art

Image

It looks like a ruined Gourmand Land from RO. I kinda hope this is in the game somehow, because it's combining a few of my favorite level concepts together. Also I just like gross stuff, so that also makes it cool.

Post-apocalyptic Gourmand Land?.... hey, I approve. I would also like to see some Baby Dragons return, I'm already getting sick of those Toads. I imagine this level is part of the "Fiesta de los Muertos" world. It would make total sense. (Also, Moskitoes!!)

We've seen Lividstones, Minotaurs, Sea Sharks, Ogres, Luchadors, Dragons, Skeletons, and those weird eyeball tentacle things. In comparison, there have been three types of Toad enemies. Besides, I like the Toad enemies.

Also those are flies, silly.

This is beautiful! If anything gives you the Rayman 2 vibe, it would certainly be this one:

The one in the upper left does look like an old-school Moskito. Just saiyan.

Remember, it's just concept art. Probably just a place holder enemy. I'm pretty sure the Toads only appear in two worlds, and that looks like a Teensies in Trouble level to me.
