Yeah, but that's exactly why keys are shaped the way they are. If you've been typing for a while, you should be able to have a pretty set-in-stone default hand position. If you rest your pinkies on either shift (which are extremely easy to find with your eyes closed), then you're basically set. Also, almost all keyboards have little bumps on the F and J keys, so that makes it even easier.
That's true, and I have a pretty stable set where my hand rests, but for some reason getting to the keyboard fails me to get my hand in the right position when I have my eyes closed.

Maybe I'm accidentally doing it on purpose for the fun of it.
