It was a regrettable sacrifice. but, unlike the Wii Family Edition, they actually added stuff in as well, such as the camera, and improved functionality, including being able to use its own EShop.

I guess you do have a point. Handhelds were treated better then home consoles by Nintendo

The problem is that with the Wii Family Edition they barely did improvements in the console. DSi is an "improvement" of the DS if we can say.

I've sorted that problem a while back, that'll teach me not to proof-read.

Huh, I ought to be working up the scoreboard myself, given the time I have.

I dunno if this has been done already, but I wonder if you guys would be interested in seeing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T__omPr_eFg
I got the Rayman 3 PC beta/demo a few months ago and played through it a bit. Noticing the many differences between this and the final version, I thought I'd make some side-by-side comparisons between the two. It's mostly sound differences, although I noticed some big lighting differences and absences of certain elements in the demo.

What do you guys think of that demo? I'm curious to know if people prefer any aspects of it, compared to the final version. :P

Haruka's got a video of the demo/beta, but, I don't think there's been a direct comparison video.

Yeah, I'm aware that several playthroughs have already been made, but I wasn't sure if they fully covered all of the different features of the beta. So, I took the plunge and broke my Sony Vegas 9 in the process. :P Hopefully, nothing like this has already been made...

I don't think so, I've dropped a quick comment about how the game over sound is Rayman 2's.
Speaking of which, I couldn't really hear the beta/demo low health, just a quick pointer.

Really? It's basically a heartbeat- it's probably a lot clearer at 2:42, where the demo death/game over noise plays.

I didn't know about the beta death (I admit I never did it in purpose) but it is good to know it incorporated the R2 jingle. Thanks for this video!

Here's a pointless fun fact:

In the fourth installment of the Pirates series, the bird noises loop from Clearleaf Forest plays during the first several scenes at the Fountain of Youth.

There, now yer educated.

I can fly, with a precise frame glitch, you can fly infinite until there isn't a wall. you can't get out of maps too.
