Hmm, interestingly enough, the top 10 have all beaten my record from last year, where I was 8th with 1047 posts.

19th place here. Not bad. Better make it into the top ten next year though.

Thirteenth. Not bad, but not very good in light of my first record still being the best.

Hi guys, I'd love to be able to send the rewards tonight but a technical issue prevents from logging into the server, so we'll have to wait until Romano finds a solution. Thank you again for your patience.

As concerns the post counts, there are absolutely no errors. Any discrepancies between them and your counters reflect the messages that were deleted, which weren't taken into account by the latter.

- Post Bonus (10 tings per post made, adding onto your already 5 tings a post)
- All Nighter Bonus (I do believe last years was 3000 or 1000 tings if you have spent almost all 24 hours on the forum, staying up all night but then spending 1 hour or so away from posting will not count)
- Record Breaker Bonus (500 for anyone who beats their previous record, even those whom are first timers I do believe
The record breaker bonus worth 1500 tings, participating also, and i think the all nighter was 3000, and you also missed the winner's 3000 tings bonus. Also, i ever believed that being an all nighter means you're being up all night and not all day...meaning from the start until sunrise.

Like he said, the live counter on Record Day didn't go down when posts were deleted, the counts Humch made are of the actual posts that exist from Record Day.

I checked the logs and you deleted almost 50 of your messages during record day, Rayfist. I don't think you can reasonably expect them to be counted.

Does that mean Rayfist double-posted by accident fifty times? Hahah, while I did double-post accidentally, it was only about thrice.

I am very sorry for my mess in that case, really my apoligies Hunch, I probably won't be participating next year record day because I'm too afraid of accidentally double posting :p.

I was just reading the amount of posts it counted originally.

Either case, you came out on top, so you still are in a win-win situation. :)

I don't think that's entirely fair due to a lack of proper description as to what qualifies as an 'all-nighter' here. Normally, an all-nighter is regarded as skipping one sleep cycle entirely, and in Record-Day terms, we could safely assume that means spending your time you use to sleep to post instead. Sleep is essentially a recreational, non-obligatory exercise we practice to retain our health, and due to its difficulty to avoid, should be rewarded in a contest like this. With that said, I don't see why being away from your desk for non-sleep-related reasons, especially if it's work or school-related, should in any way affect the retention of the bonus, not only because that's not what an all-nighter implies, but because they're unavoidable circumstances.

You're sure anyone can wait for tings, but you can't wait for that damn rank to be applied? You'll get it after the tings are given out anyway.

Shrooblord got a special rank because he won the SOTM. The rewards for record day, whether Tings or special ranks, have not even been announced yet, so could you please be patient and wait like everybody else ? It's your third post in this topic about your rank, in addition to the four PMs I've received from you; don't you think you've made your interest for this special rank (which you might not even get as I don't remember confirming anyone would get some this year) clear enough?
Rayfist wrote:I am very sorry for my mess in that case, really my apoligies Hunch, I probably won't be participating next year record day because I'm too afraid of accidentally double posting :p.
There's no problem at all, though I still wonder why you'd delete so many of your messages (I somehow find it hard to imagine that you double posted fifty times and made sure to remove all duplicates after that).

Just to clarify this matter, bonus Tings will be awarded to those who stayed active during the entire record, safe for short lunch and shower breaks. Roughly, this should translate into no more than 30 minutes between two posts. Whether it's fair that those who had to leave because of unavoidable circumstances do not get this reward is an irrelevant consideration, as these bonuses reward performance, not merit. An athlete who broke their leg two days before the Olympics will not get the gold just because they could have won.

Yes, though that analogy doesn't entirely apply, as the only information we had really had was that 'those who pull an all-nighter will be rewarded with bonus tings,' and since there wasn't any clarification as to what an 'all-nighter' was other than what we can normally assume, I figure that at the now-clarified rules on this should at least be a little more lax.

Though I can't complain much, they're just bonus tings after all!

This is a special reward we introduced last year, and while the name may be misleading, that's the way it worked back then. Also, I don't remember officially announcing anywhere that there would be such a reward this year, so it could just be anything.
