@Master
Wouldn't that be worst Rayman game just how Batman & Robin was worst Batman movie?

Re: Rayman 1
Perhaps, it was more the joke I was referring to.
Re: Rayman 1
What if those clouds with faces contain the souls of dead raypeople, and the reason they disappear is because they don't like being stepped on?

Re: Rayman 1
Well they just go back to what they were doing after they're not being stepped on anymore of course!

Re: Rayman 1
Those are eyes. That's how clouds look in the Jaguar version I think, and maybe one or two other versions or spin-offs. If you step on a disappearing cloud its eyes will open and look at you before it vanishes in a puff of logic.emshomar wrote:Yeah, so afzer 5 or 6 years of forgettness, I can play this faked Rayman Brain Games CD I brought once with me from Bahrain and noticed the clouds looked different. Re: Rayman 1
The eyes won't open if I jump on them.
Re: Rayman 1
You're correct, I confirm this.spiraldoor wrote:Those are eyes. That's how clouds look in the Jaguar version I think.
I believe that happened in the educational games if I remember well.(...) and maybe one or two other versions or spin-offs. If you step on a disappearing cloud its eyes will open and look at you before it vanishes in a puff of logic

Re: Rayman 1
download the game, mount it on pSX or ePSXe or wherever you like, start the level on the right, play a bit and tell me these eyes will open when you jump on them. It did not open on my PS2.Haruka wrote:I believe that happened in the educational games if I remember well.

Re: Rayman 1
Apparently I wrote this at some point. In the Atari Jaguar version of the game, vanishing clouds have eyes, which snap open to reveal a malevolent face an instant before they disappear from under Rayman's feet. These eyed clouds, however, do not open their eyes in any other version of the game, but they do still appear to have closed eyes. They make a reappearance in Rayman 3's 2D Madness minigame, where they are larger, and bounce Rayman into the air rather than vanishing when he steps on them.
Re: Rayman 1
Yes, but I did an Atari Jaguar walkthrough and I remember to see the clouds with eyes. I remember some R1 spin-off had this too, Learning French With Rayman if my memory doesn't trick me.
Re: Rayman 1
I remember you did Breakout Minigame Gameplay for both Jaguar and DOS Version. May I ask why was sound bad in DOS gameplay? Was there some emulation issue?
Re: Rayman 1
If I remember well, the walkthrough done at that time had laggy emulation at ocasional moments so it must be normal if it sounded bad at any point.

Re: Rayman 1
Not only the breakout minigame. Sound effects in general are a bit low quality. Rayman for PC was originaly designed for the Sound Blaster 16, a 44.1KHz 16Bit soundcard card with OPL-3 synthesizer.OldClassicGamer wrote:I remember you did Breakout Minigame Gameplay for both Jaguar and DOS Version. Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, music was a little laggy. But then again, it was DOSBox 2 years ago and although I did not use it back then, I will assume emulation wasnt good like it is today.

Re: Rayman 1
uuhmm, well... the sound could work also perfect on v0.63 but only if you setted the configuration correctly.OldClassicGamer wrote:Yeah, music was a little laggy. But then again, it was DOSBox 2 years ago and although I did not use it back then, I will assume emulation wasnt good like it is today.

Re: Rayman 1
I think I remember seeing eyed clouds in the DSi version too. They didn't look malevolent though - they looked shocked (with the fact they're about to disappear, maybe).
