Re: Rayman 2
No, I think not. However, following regular English phonetics (like there is such a thing) would lead me to believe it's [fowtsh] but following French would make it [footsh], which, honestly, makes him sound like a sissy.spiraldoor wrote:Are any of the guardians' names ever actually spoken by any character in any version of the game?
But now I'm wondering how you guys pronounce it. Please tell me!

Re: Rayman 2
Even if his name was said, there probably would be something contradicting it. Remember the whole Lums Looms thing?Shrooblord wrote:No, I think not. Re: Rayman 2
Axel - Ákcell
Umber - Umber
Foutch - Fôutch
Grolem 13 - Grólém thirteen (If I say it in portuguese I say treze instead of thirteen)
Just for a trivial moment, Axel is named Agagl in French. Agagl is the french onomatopoeia for the feeling of cold (equivalent to "brrrr").

Re: Rayman 2

Re: Rayman 2
Meh, because Agagl doesn't roll well, plus, Axel sounds cool (lame pun).
Re: Rayman 2
I did not say they should keep name Agagl, but why not localize name in English version to name that has to do something with cold, freezing, ice or something.

Re: Rayman 2
An old mate called 'Alex' hated it when people call him 'Axel' because axel.

Re: Rayman 2
I guess because it's one of those details that probably don't work well in English, having a boss called "Brrr" doesn't really have the same effect.
Re: Rayman 2
They could have called him Freezer or Cooler.

Re: Rayman 2
Like in DBZ? Nah, doesn't really fit in the spirit of Rayman 2.
Re: Rayman 2
I sometimes call people whose names are Alex 'Axel' by mistake. It kinda rolls off my tongue and I'm used to it.emshomar wrote:An old mate called 'Alex' hated it when people call him 'Axel' because axel.

Re: Rayman 2
That would work in Mario, just like "Brrr" would. But not in Rayman.OldClassicGamer wrote:They could have called him Freezer or Cooler.
Re: Rayman 2
I agree that "Brrr" would only work in Mario but I like DBZ so perhaps that's why I like those names.

The Game is good but in PS1 Version is the Game easy ,but in PS2 Version is the game hard.
Re: Rayman 2
Yea I beat it without buying any powers or getting more health. It was brutal.Yuffie Kisaragi wrote:The Game is good but in PS1 Version is the Game easy ,but in PS2 Version is the game hard.

The PS1 version is easy if you're used to the shit controls. It's like you're forcing Rayman to go forward and he will go at full speed after like 2 seconds.
Re: Rayman 2
Yeah, PS2 Version had much better controls.
Re: Rayman 2
This problem is present in quite a few games, like Rayman 2, Crash Bandicoot 1, Croc 1 and 2 etcetera.OldClassicGamer wrote:Yeah, PS2 Version had much better controls.
