As an alternative change that I could purpose in my first sketch, would be hiding the feet to make him look less skinny, and ocult the eyes, and show just a black hole between the cloak and the hat. I believe that the cartoony of the yellow eyes wouldn't work in RO style, so I think the black hole could work better.

It isn't perfect, I pretty much rushed this (and to do something more convincing I would need more time to draw it) and as I said, RO isn't quite my drawing style. However, I defend that to keep the characterization convincing, you just would need to focus in three elements: eyes, hat and cloak.

You know your drawings are beautiful. This in my opinion is not crappy at all even as a rushed sketch. I personally like how he is skinny. Very nice sketch Haruka :D

GN, The Mr Dark that you showed like he escaped from Rango :P I like a big part of the design, but I think the colours are way too bright for someone who is... you know.... dark.

Haruka, I'd like to see a more completed version of what you showed, seems promising, but I'd really like to see a finished version in order to make a full review of it.

What do you think about this one? it's so far my favourite.

I think it looks good but eyes are not evil enough.

Actually, Sergio's drawing that he just showed looks by far more convincing for me. It is something I would have tried to approach.

It is better then one with patches for sure, but I can't help feeling that his eyes are depressing.

Depressing, no, they're simply covered by his hat. I think he looks a bit too tall - I'm used to the stout Mr. Dark from Rayman 1 - but I agree - of all the fanart I've seen of him, this is one of the best.

It's called perspective. The eyes look depressed (for you) because:

1. The hat.
2. He's fucking tall.

That's just really amazing! Best Mr Dark I have seen so far. :) I Also don't see anything wrong in the eyes, I think they look really evil.

I guess you are right. After all, pretty much everyone here knows art a lot better then me.

Maybe you can't see the division between the hat and the head, causing you to see depressed eyes. The possible reason is that maybe your screen is a little too dark, can you increase the brightness of it? :P

OK, today I tried to draw while looking to the original R1 design of Mr Dark for a better accuracy (the one of yesterday was done by memory), and with some depth in detail. Here it goes:

I'm still trying to get used to my Android tablet so don't wonder if it looks messy.

As I told you on skype, the drawing looks great, and I think you particularly nailed it with the eyes. I see every artwork tried to show their own personal perspective of the character by adding weird stuff to them, like patches, mustaches and even a prominent chest. You actually were able to make what Mr Dark truly is in a different artstyle :P

My applauses. However, as I said, I'd like you to practice your colouring just a bit. May I ask you, have you ever used layers?

That's the problem, Sergio. The software I was using (S Note) in my Android tablet does not have layers, that's why the colouring is messy. Otherwise I would have done a better painting. I couldn't do big miracles either but my true intention with the drawing was the design, not necessairly the colour.

S Note, hm? I must say.. for a tablet app, I'm really impressed, I once tried to draw on a tablet but it's just too unresponsive for me.

The tablet I used is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I think it has got a pretty natural behaving when you are drawing with the S Pen on its screen.

Except that you can't put your hands on it, like you're writing on a desk. It might be good enough though i once tried to draw on my tab 2 with a myaudio stylus, but it worked just bad, i coudn't even draw a circle, using my hand was better.

Anyway, the PSVita version of Rayman Origins is great! The touchscreen was a great feture and it looks awesome on a handheld! Howewer there are a few things.

1. The opportunities to collect lums and enemy bubbles by tapping makes the game easier, but makes the max lum record harder to calculate.
And these are kinda important:
2. it doesn't even matter if i tell, that except the electoon levels, My heartburns for you, To bubblize a mocking bird and Murray of the Deep, the max score for every other level is 1000 lums, meaning the max score would be more than 44500 lums, almost twice as much as in the original.
How can this be possible? By using a glitch of the touchscreen. By tapping enemy or item bubbles after you die, BUT just before the screen fades into black, later when you reappear, you get the lums for the bubbles tapped at the correct moment. This only works if you, for example, head into the secret room kill the enemies, get killed and tap the enemy bubbles, because there was a checkpoint before the secret room and it will save every lum added. This doesn't work if you die, obtain some lums in the same room, the die again but don't collect lums the second time, because then the counter will reset to the amount you had before you first got bonus lums.
3. The ×2 multiplier also reappears in this version, it appeared many times when i was attempting to obtain 1000 lums in Swimming with stars using the same method mentioned above, and it appeared about each 7th time i respawned.

I guess i shall make some sort of hacking of the RO CD to see what the heck is this multiplier thing.

Actually, the S Note offers an option that makes the bare-hand touch being deactivated and drawing only with the detection of the S Pen. Thanks to this I can place my hand on the screen without creating lineart conflicts when drawing.

Interesting data about the Vita version by the way. I hope an emulator of Vita is in the makings.
