I once read that swearing when you get hurt actually makes it feel less painful.

That was on Mythbusters, but I don't remember how it went down.Master wrote:I once read that swearing when you get hurt actually makes it feel less painful.

I can totally believe that. I've experienced the magic of fuck whenever I've accidentally slaughtered myself.
Re: Who's the best English member of 2013?! - ROUND 3
Because I believe there are much better ways to express feelings then swearing. However I do not mind them in movies, and being used for comedy. However I find it immature if people are using it for different thingsAdsolution wrote:Growing away from them personally is fine and all, but why do you say that swearing is inherently immature?

I think that censoring out swear words because you think the word is "bad" is more immature than the use of them (unless people excessively swear, then aye that's shit).

^This.
Anything can be used as a good expression of emotion. I don't see why they should be something to be avoided, but rather something that should simply be used in moderation, just like anything else really.

And I used asterisks there because I wanted to highlight the difference between this shit and the Great Flying Poo. Lemme the right not to consider what he said as relevant (anyway, dis was a jk).

Oh believe me, I am against censorship on TV like in Anime for example so don't get wrong image of me, but I simply don't like using those words myself when I am normally talking. If I was writing a story with my own characters, they would most likely swear sometimes.Serza5 wrote:I think that censoring out swear words because you think the word is "bad" is more immature than the use of them (unless people excessively swear, then aye that's shit).

It should be soon, I voted just before I left, which was four days ago.
Re: Who's the best English member of 2013?! - ROUND 3

It was intense too, as spiral was ahead right up until the last few votes.

Oh, that's just sadistic, picking between you and Haruka.

I will most likely vote some time later and see who is doing worse and will help him/her with votes.
