I'm Finnish, and I speak Finnish, English, Swedish (not so well), and I have studied Russian now for four years (tried to study!)
The only thing I know about any foreign relatives is that i have some "ancestors" and distant relatives in Switzerland.

100% Montenegrin, but hopefully sooner or later will be Japanese (although getting their citizenship requires tons of work).

Each of my grandparents had different roots, so, as far as I know, I am part German, part Japanese, part Russian, and part redneck. I consider myself a European-American, since I was born in the US, and that's where I'm staying.

FFS, a mere six-hundred years of inhabitance cannot possibly exhibit enough evolutionary change to denote the existence of a new race. :tssk: To be "part-American" means to be part-this:

Unfortunately, no. It's my own fault, though, since I never take the time to learn it. I would like to learn it, since I have relatives who speak Japanese fluently, but speak little English, and since imports and many documentations (for instance, those for emulators) are in Japanese. My mother speaks a bit of Japanese, which she uses to communicate with my great aunt.

Is your preferred language English or Japanese?

The large amount of inbreeding and their high cholesterol levels makes them a new race. ;)

In all seriousness, you completely misunderstood my post. I call myself part-redneck, since my grandfather was also a European-American, but I do not know his roots, only that he is from Arkansas. I don't think that rednecks are an actual ethnic group, if that's what you think! I WAS FUCKING JOKING.

Also, anyone who lives in the United States is technically an "American." People often misuse the term to describe Caucasians from the US, but that is why I used the term "EUROPEAN-American" to describe myself, instead of just "American." DON'T PEECK ON VUT IY SAYYY!!!

I completely understood your post, I was just pointing out an inconsistency within it. To my knowledge, people here are speaking moreso of their genetic backgrounds, because that's what biologically differentiates people from one-another and is what makes the thread interesting. If you claim that you're a biological mix of the German, Japanese and Russian, then inserting your place of birth into the exact same consecutive list with no break in context is simply wrong and misleading, as it sounds as if you're claiming to have American biological roots as well.

Technically they are, going off of what the word 'ethnicity' means. The ethnicity has neither been focused nor around long enough however for it to have yet sprouted its own evolutionary traits.
technology4617 wrote:Also, anyone who lives in the United States is technically an "American."
It means that you're an American citizen, which is but a social token, completely unrelated to biological roots, the topic of this thread and of the first three on your list. Your argument was confused and irrelevant.

I mention my place of birth later in the post, so that is wrong. I was referencing my grandfather by saying I am part redneck. As I said before, I don't know his ethnic background, only that he is from the south and has European roots. IT WAS A JOKE.

I was talking about physical and evolutionary differences, not culture. Perhaps I could have phrased it better.

Actually, any American citizen is considered an American by default, since there is no particular race associated with the country. All the word "American" refers to is a social token. You are referring to native Americans, the only people that are truly associated with the United States' background, but that doesn't mean that the term "American" refers solely to them.

I'm not picking at the potentially humourous notion of replacing the word 'American' with 'redneck', it's where and how you included it. Clearly saying 'redneck' was a joke, but if your replace that with the intended 'American', you're still listing something separate with no contextual break. Nonsensical and misleading.

Well obviously, just like how a citizen of France is considered French. That's irrelevant however, as it yet again is a completely separate designation from race.

I was actually calling myself a European-American since I was born here, but have mostly European roots. Sorry if I was unclear.

My point exactly, though you're correct in that if any race should be associated with the US, it should be native Americans.
