Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?

Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
I guess no. But I usually don't mention it because the topic never occurs to me. Plus, the few people that will say something about it if I mention it will talk about "Raving Rabbids"...Although, I my best friend who moved a couple years back, he did know about it. And apparently he has Rayman 1, Rayman 2, and Origins (he hasn't played 3 yet).
Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
I'm not really ashamed of liking Rayman, I'm more ashamed that we have such a division in product line-ups when it comes to adults and children. IMO when its comes to entertainment and media, such as video games and TV shows, we shouldn't have this sort of division. Everything should be suitable and acceptable for everyone no matter your gender or how old you are. I know its leaning on utopian but frankly its the bottom line in my book. That way we could cut down on social awkwardness, even bullying and other similar things in life.

Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
Is there such division in the Rayverse? I tend to think that most games in the series are fun for both children and adults. Maybe the Rabbids are an exception, but I wouldn't really know much more about that than what I see on face value.
Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
I have to disagree with this statement. So you are saying that 10 year olds should watch Adult channels?Paspie wrote:Everything should be suitable and acceptable for everyone no matter your gender or how old you are.
As for Rayman, I think Ray's fanbase does not have issue like that with his games since they are for All ages.

No, he's saying that all content should be made to cater to everyone, a notion that I sadly cannot agree with.
Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
Ah, now I get it. Since he is Brony, he probably dislikes how people criticize MLP being only for girls and stuff like that.
Well here on RPC, I think he should not have problem. Now on YouTube, it is different case.
I myself dislike MLP and do think it is girls show but I will respect if others watch it but only if they don't try to change my opinion. I respect his opinion, he respects mine. Thats how it works best for me.

Schindler's List isn't suitable for children. Neither is Breaking Bad, or Watchmen, or Ulysses. Therefore they should not exist. Let's round up all copies of these works and destroy them so socially awkward kids can avoid bullying or something! Replace all art with the fucking Teletubbies.Paspie wrote:I'm not really ashamed of liking Rayman, I'm more ashamed that we have such a division in product line-ups when it comes to adults and children. Urgh, Teletubbies...
If you want a really good kids show, check Sesame Street.

I know. I actually disliked Teletubbies as a kid. I just found it funny how Spiral sarcasticly said it.
Sesame Street, now that is something I loved.

I was scared of hand puppets as a kid, so I never watched Sesame Street. 100 % dumbfuck kid.
Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
Well we all had some fears as a kid

Heck, at least you didn't watch and enjoy Barney as a kid, that's one heck of a shame to carry.

I never watched Sesame Street or Barney. Teletubbies on the other hand
Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
I did watch Teletubbies too, my opinion on it as a kiddo was pretty much indifferent. I don't remember what other shows I watched... but once I wanted to watch Transformers and my mother was all like "No no no, that's too violent, honey. Watch this peaceful Christmas cartoon instead." and I was upset because I didn't get to see huge fighting robots. I have no idea why I thought it was so much more interesting.

Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
I've watched Teletubbies and the Tweenies, amongst other things that were on Cbeebies at the time, and before Cbeebies existed, if I recall correctly.
Bob the Builder was alright though.
Hm, when I got older, I think the first Transformers cartoon I watched was Transformers: Cybertron, it's expanded from there, my favourite Transformers cartoon is either Beast Wars or Transformers: Prime.

Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
Unless there are specific aspects of the show that designate it as a girls' show, I don't know why you feel that way aside from what has been designated as a general cultural norm. If people weren't exposed previously to the idea of gender roles, then I doubt there would be many more girls watching it than boys.OldClassicGamer wrote:I myself dislike MLP and do think it is girls show
Re: Are you ashamed by admitting you like Rayman?
I never watched Teletubbies, or Sesame Street (Because they did not show Sesame Street in Finland), but one show that I always watched was The Powerpuff Girls.
I don't really know if it is meant for kids, but I always loved the humor, and I still do.
