It's funny how a lot of smartphones, which are weaker than the PSVita, cost just as much.Adsolution wrote:Akin to that, the Vita here costs $286, which is approximately 230 euros. Re: Rayman Origins
Most smartphones around here cost between 500 and 800 dollars, actually.
Re: Rayman Origins
I guess the 800$ one is the iPhone 5. I would never pay that much for a smartphone, unless i became rich and can do it anytime, but not really. They just aren't worth that much.Adsolution wrote:Most smartphones around here cost between 500 and 800 dollars, actually.
Re: Rayman Origins
True, but in the economy around here, 230€ is still expensive but truly not as much as the Wii U.Adsolution wrote:Akin to that, the Vita here costs $286, which is approximately 230 euros. The Galaxy S4 costs 800€ in most of the places.Adsolution wrote:Most smartphones around here cost between 500 and 800 dollars, actually.

Re: Rayman Origins
Getting a PSVita with both Wifi and 3G costs £200 here, while an S4 has an RRP of about £630.
Re: Rayman Origins
I can believe the pricing varies this much in several countries. Well i can tell than an S4 here costs about 430€, while an iPhone 5 costs 500€ minimum for the 16 GB version. The average income in our country is a bit lower than the other countries i guess.
Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah, that's kind of odd. But the prices around here are the same as Spain and France at least.
Re: Rayman Origins
Back on topic, i discovered a glitch that lets you to earn much higher scores in moskito levels. As you may have experienced, when you inhale enemies ( larger ones ) you get 1-2 lums. And if you shoot it out, you can inhale it again and get more lums as long as it doesn't run out of life or reaches a surface that bubblizes it. ( more than 4 times ). That's how i just got round 500 lums in You're on Fire!
Re: Rayman Origins
Anyone remembers wehn RO was firstly announced? They said that iOS version will be made too. I wonder why was RO never ported to iOS and instead we gor Rayman Jungle Run. Sure Jungle Run is fun but why not have both?

Re: Rayman Origins
They never confirmed it, merely stated that they were considering it, the only confirmed platforms were PS3 and Xbox 360, if memory serves.
Re: Rayman Origins
Then also, why didn't Gayloft port Rayman 2 to Android? There surely were some Android devices at 2010 ( as that's when it came out )that could run the game. And also, there are many android devices that are supreme but there just aren't games which would make use of the power that today's high-end smartphones offer.OldClassicGamer wrote:Anyone remembers wehn RO was firstly announced? As for RO, it would have been great to see it on iOS, but as i said, Android too. But anyways, you can't just expect to play games like that on mobile, devs usually make games everyone can play and so they're quite simple and dumb ( talking about some of the disney games, pou, and other shit apps ). There are not so many games that are really worth playing out of the hundreds of thousands of games on the market.
Back on Rayman origins, I've completed the game with more than 23000 lums!

Re: Rayman Origins
Personally, I don't think RO would've worked on touch devices, and it's clear the UbiArt team so that also, and decided to go with Jungle Run, however, like I said before, at no point was an iOS version of Origins ever confirmed, the closest they got to that was in a blog post (which has since been deleted) on the Origins blog, stating they were considering it, it would seem Jungle Run is the product of said consideration.
Congrats Rayrobi on your achievement, quite the dedication you're holding for this game.

Re: Rayman Origins
RO was planned for iPad back in 2010 but then the game suffered lots of changes during the development. For the dexetry required it is impossible playing RO in a touch device. Have you imagined passing the Land of the Livid Dead with touch controls? Rayman Jungle Run is an obvious adaptation for these devices.

Re: Rayman Origins
Again, I'm pretty certain the blog post said that they were considering, not actually actively developing for the iPad.
But yes, there's no way that the current RO would work well on tablet, smartphones or any other like devices, unless you connected a controller to them, which defeats the purpose anyway.

Re: Rayman Origins
I actually think Haruka is right because I also remember that someware it was written it was planned for iPad.
As for Land of the Livid Dead part, they could adapt that in Jungle Run style while most of the game uses touch controlls. That is just my opinion.

Re: Rayman Origins
That would just ruin the original RO-like gameplay. Jungle Run is fine as it is, though you can't do much with the fact that there are 70 levels if they are shorter than even RO's time trials modes.OldClassicGamer wrote:I actually think Haruka is right because I also remember that someware it was written it was planned for iPad.

Re: Rayman Origins
Now that I pre-ordered Rayman Legends on Steam, I have extra copy of Rayman Origins in inventory that I can gift. I wonder who should I gift it to?

Only if nobody else wants...
