There were plenty of moments in which I've wanted to like posts and also realized that there's no "Like" button.

bump

I guess??

anyway I basically just came here to complain because it's my nan's funeral today and

idk it just doesn't feel real I guess

It would probably be a whole lot better if my dad wasn't being so blase/insensitive about it? literally his first words when she died were "oh I'm sorry, that's sad, can you make me a coffee?" he's been like this through the entire process and it is pissing me off

also I'm wearing a dress which is fine but I'm not really a dress person, it's all swoosh around my butt and it's distinctly uncomfortable

meh

Sorry about to hear about your nan, MLII. Funerals are never easy, kinda sucks about how your dad reacted.

Some people just suck at expressing their feelings, or would rather hide them, but that doesn't mean they don't care.

@Zepto I only do voice chat on Skype if someone is good friend of mine and even then it's only if they ask for it. I do it also if I am recording Let's Play with someone. Typing, I am always happy to type.
@Omar why?

Indeed, though I might seem somewhat talkative here, due to my introverted nature, I do find it difficult to socialise at times irl, and I hate going out for the sake of it.

@Master I understand. While I talk in here, in real life it isn't really like that since I'm more conserved. Again, it also depends of the situations and the people too.

Your social skills here are quite good.
Because I am not talking in person to anyone here but by writing, which is easier for me. I have high social anxiety and phobias and on top of it shyness that doesn't help me at all.
That's true for me as well. It's actually the main reason I wanted to immigrate back to the Netherlands. I miss having contact with human beings outside my own family which will soon be without my brother. I can't say I haven't tried to create friendship but the American culture (Not Americans is general. I've got several American friends on the web, but in real life I just... dunno.) is too different for me. I think I knew a good 30 people on the school I just completed the last three years on, which would make me the "popular kid" but it was mostly because I wasn't myself. In terms of humour, interests and acting I seemed to be almost the exact opposite of everyone and eventually I cut a line and pulled myself back from those people because reflecting back on those years I can name not a single person there who had any idea who I actually was. And while I may seem to have strong social anxiety in that case, I most definitely do, because I wouldn't even dare to express my real opinions on things there. But it's had a bad effect on me. Whenever I see my uncle now we have conversations like your being forced to talk with a complete stranger. And when a stranger does say something to me I tend to react like I'm in complete shock. RPC was one of the main places where I'd go for my human interaction, and it still is, and likely will be as this whole immigration is not working out. I just try to keep a positive look at things.

Edit: Well it seems to have just been made official that I'm gonna get dragged back to sit out another four years of this ^ :boon:

It sucks that you have to be stuck for another four years in this. Doesn't sound fun at all.

My reason for my anxiety and phobia is that I got so bullied in primary school because that I am autistic (asperger more specifically) that I started to go away from everyone and stay in my own bubble world, not talking to anyone. I never really had a true friend outside of internet either because of that. I started to get scared from talking to people from being used to be told to get away because i'm a "weirdo". Worse thing is, that the school didn't give a crap and let them go after me. It continued in high school and just got depression from that. Ended up failing my second year there twice and then dropped out which leads me here now in adult school. I was bullied while in class, it was pretty bad. Only one person stood up for me and it was a very old class teammate from primary school. Can't do anything but blame the society for my anxiety and phobia.

I always feel like i'm going to be judged for what I say so I never talk to anyone.

Yeah, not looking forward to it but I can't say I wasn't expecting it so I'm not having some sort of emotional outburst. I have been in a pretty negative mood because of it.

That really sucks. I have quite history about being bullied too but I've learned to stop giving a shit about those people. Thing I had to deal with last school year was when one these hilarious people decided it would be oh so funny to make racist jokes. Luckily these same people are also incredibly ignorant and I get to choose whether to make them look like idiots by telling them every word they say is incorrect or make them believe the dumbest shit and they'll fall for it. I won't deny that it's tough to speak up for yourself but it's a true relief when you do.
ZeptoRay wrote:I always feel like i'm going to be judged for what I say so I never talk to anyone.
Easy to relate to. It's something I even have with my own family. What has kept me from developing any friendships with anyone in years is the fact that I'm always being told what I need to do about myself to appeal more to people. Well I tried that, and then you end up with people who know you as a different person. From the other side, however, I don't feel like there's not any sort of "doing something about yourself." And after attempt and attempt you loose hope and you give up, and that's where I am right now. Just no interaction, not even much with my family.
