Re: The Emulation Thread
Why doesn't anyone use XEBRA or PCSX-R for PSX emulation? They are better emulators than ePSXe, in my opinion.Haruka wrote:Apparently ePSXe has got now the version 1.9.0. I've downloaded it.
Re: The Emulation Thread
They both suck in my opinion. XEBRA does not have save stating and enhanced graphics, PCSX-R honestly plays some games horrible like Hugo games for example. ePSXe is considered best by many fans of PS1 gaming. PSXfin is also not bad and you don't need plugin for multitrack games. Music plays fine. I like both of them. You can compare PSXfin to XEBRA and ePSXe to PCSX-R. Both PSXfin and ePSXe have much better performance in my opinion.

Re: The Emulation Thread
PCSX-R does not emulate certain games well (neither does ePSXe), but since PCSX-R has a wide selection of features, like the FOV hack, I'd honestly rather have a crappy emulator with a bunch of features than a crappy one that doesn't have them. As for your statement about XEBRA not having enhanced graphics and save states, I agree with you. But, honestly, I don't really care, since the original PlayStation 1 did not have those features either. Once you get past the lack of a wide selection of (unnecessary) features in XEBRA, it's really an excellent emulator. It's not designed to have a shitload of features, like PCSX-R,GPU but to emulate the games accurately and at the correct speed. For instance, with ePSXe, I get irritating slowdowns and garbage with SH1 (and i have a decent GPU), but on XEBRA, I have never gotten a slowdown or garbage, and looks even better than it would as if I played it on my PS3. ePSXe also features numerous sound issues with Rayman 1 (if you can manage to get past the "Ubisoft freeze"), such as the Caves of Skops audio spazzouts and the CDDA glitch with the exit sign, and also features slowdowns when recording (http://youtu.be/GgcSwzJF1pU sorry for the poor gameplay) and our old friend, garbage! And, to be honest, I've never heard of PSXfin. I'll check it out.OldClassicGamer wrote:They both suck in my opinion. I never had exit sign glitch for Rayman 1 but I heared others did. Did you follow Haruka's tutorial?

Re: The Emulation Thread
I did, but it happens anyway. If I remember correctly, it happens in Haruka's walkthrough as well. In PCSX-R, I didn't get the glitch (but I got other graphical ones), but I was using Pete's SPU plugin instead of the Eternal plugin. I'll try using Pete's plugin and see if that works.OldClassicGamer wrote:I never had exit sign glitch for Rayman 1 but I heared others did. Did you follow Haruka's tutorial?
I was never able to get Rayman (NTSC-U ver.) working in ePSXe 1.8, but I was able to get it working in 1.7 (with glitches), XEBRA (without issues), and PCSX-R (though the FOV hack won't work for some reason, and, yeah, there are glitches). I'll try 1.9. If they now have truly reached the compatibility and speed marvels of the XEBRA emulator, then I might switch back. If not, XEBRA ALL THE FUCKIN' WAY!!!!!!

Re: The Emulation Thread
I'm having trouble with running Rayman 1 on ePSX. All it shows is the Ubisoft logo and it freezes. My disc is clean and the other Rayman games runs perfectly but Rayman 1 doesn't. What do I do?
Re: The Emulation Thread
I suggest you to download it elsewhere.Rayman502 wrote:I'm having trouble with running Rayman 1 on ePSX. All it shows is the Ubisoft logo and it freezes. My disc is clean and the other Rayman games runs perfectly but Rayman 1 doesn't. What do I do?
Re: The Emulation Thread
Rayman 1 US does not work on ePSXe. Only European and Japanese versions do.

Well that is strange. It worked on my XP but my XP is broke.OldClassicGamer wrote:Rayman 1 US does not work on ePSXe. Only European and Japanese versions do.
Re: The Emulation Thread
I have no idea what is the problem then. It never worked on Windows 7 for me.

Re: The Emulation Thread
Download either ePSXe 1.7 or XEBRA, and use either of those to play the game. I prefer XEBRA, myself (if you look at an earlier post of mine in this forum, it explains why), but you can choose which one you would like to use. XEBRA has less bugs than ePSXe in running the game, but you will need to mount the ISO or have a physical disc in order for the music to work properly. Rayman doesn't work on the later versions of ePSXe, due its amazing compatibility (sarcasm sphere sub-test complete).Rayman502 wrote:I'm having trouble with running Rayman 1 on ePSX. Re: The Emulation Thread
OCG, may i ask you how did you get SSF to work that fast? It is a bit slow when i'm recording it as a region of the screen ( when it records it as an opengl/DX window it lags like hell ), i tried some tweaks i saw on youtube but none did help. Any suggestions?
Re: The Emulation Thread
I honestly left everything on deafult except for changes I showed in my video. I am afraid I do not know why is it slow for you.

Re: The Emulation Thread
Emulate a console on a console sounds stupid anyway. I heard that the PS4 will be easy to emulate because the PS4 will supposedly have the same code as a PC. What do you think?"

Re: The Emulation Thread
What about emulating various consoles on a PSP? Done me well for portable gaming.
Re: The Emulation Thread
As long as there isn't a real working PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 emulator, i don't bother looking at these vids. It seems pretty unrealistic to emulate a console while its predecessor still can't be emulated. It is not only the code that makes a console "emulatable".emshomar wrote:Emulate a console on a console sounds stupid anyway. Re: The Emulation Thread
I don't think PS4 Emulator would work on my PC
Anyways I have a question about your signature. What is the point of 1k ting donation? You would still be in big minus of tings, and that person who got your version can later share your activation-free version of Mega Patch. Not to mention that there is torrent of GOG.com version. It is not profitable at all.

It would be very possible to emulate them on today's PC with full speed and only problem is that nobody wants to waste time making them.Rayrobi wrote:As long as there isn't a real working PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 emulator, i don't bother looking at these vids. Re: The Emulation Thread
1k is at least something possible. If I'd say 10k or 500k or better a million no one would be willing to donate me. This version, will have a little security built in which can prevent sharing
, as long as you don't share you will still be able to run the Mega Patch.
Re: The Emulation Thread
Considering that only a very few people would be able to play on it due to the supreme power these consoles need to run games, they do it right. It would be pointless to make an emulator for about a few thousand people, who have a top-quality PC. Also, why the heck would you want to emulate a PS4 anyway?OldClassicGamer wrote:It would be very possible to emulate them on today's PC with full speed and only problem is that nobody wants to waste time making them.
