I have just finished Origins with all the electoons and skulls tooth (took me 14h), just wow! Why didn't I played this before ¬¬

The ending wasn't all that interesting :( I expected something more epic. Hopefully Legends isn't that far now :mryellow: im so excited

Only 2 weeks until the release, but hopefully the game itself will get into stores before that!

Personally, Rayman Origins is the least good Rayman game in the current quadrilogy. Now for its soundtrack, I think it is better than Rayman 3 at least.

Then how could Origins be the least good if it is better than Rayman 3? :P

Also my opinions about the games are these:
Rayman Legends - probably the best, many levels, online play and leaderboards, great gameplay
Rayman Revolution - 8.5 - not quite good graphics but really good gameplay and story.
Rayman 1 - 8.2 - levels are not too realistic, but great and challenging.
Rayman Origins - 7.8 - levels are sometimes too short, beautiful graphics and music.
Rayman 3 - 7.0 - it's gameplay is fun but not really Rayman-like, and too few levels.

This is just my opinion about the games.

If you'd read properly you would have seen that she said its soundtrack was better, not the game.

My opinions:
Rayman 1 - 10/10 - Pure masterpiece, one of the best games ever created. No game has atmosphere like Rayman 1. Good challange and graphics are really colorful and good for it's time. Version that I prefer is Saturn
Rayman 2 - 9.5/10 - Excellent story, great design, but combat could have been done maybe better. I personally think they should have made Rayman 2 in 2D with Rayman 1 Style, and that current Rayman 2 should have been game after.
Rayman 3 - 7.4/10 - I appriciate that they tried something different but it just does not work too well in my opinion. It was also too short.
Rayman Origins - 8/10 - Amazing graphics and Awesome 2D action. I think story and ending could have been done a little better, and it can be really frustrating on some parts but I still like it.
Rayman Legends - It will be probably longest Rayman game but I don't think it will be better then Rayman 1 and 2. it will however be much better then Rayman 3 and Origins.

Rayman Origins doesn't have a story at all, while the R3 one had and it was simply ok. I know in terms of longevity (especially if we are not counting the score mode) RO is better but I think the game is too linear and cakewalk.

Good thing i didn't mention Rayman M. Howewer it is said to be the worst Rayman game, it's still good in my opinion. ( not as good as the others though )

Also, the person behind the stories of RO and RL should be Gabrielle Shrager ( from what i saw in RO's credits, she was the first who was mentioned in the Story section ), so i think the story is mostly her work.

I'd probably say...

Rayman 1 - 9/10
Rayman 2 - 9/10
Rayman 3 - 8/10
Rayman Origins - 8.5/10

I've never quite understood why Rayman 3's soundtrack is often seen as the worst. Rayman 2's soundtrack is nothing but brilliant, but R3 offers a broader sound with more variety. The music heard in the Fairy Glade is basically the main sound of R2, and many times you'll be hearing this same kind of music. The Walk of Life, The Canopy, The Fairy Glade, and Riding the Shell are just to name a few. I'm not against a game keeping a certain sound, especially not in Rayman 2's case because it has some rather unique tracks. There's a lot of atmosphere to the music and some music like The Hall of Doors just couldn't be more fitting. But there are a few times where I wish they would've done something different rather then remix the main theme again. In my humble opinion, and I know lot of people are going to disagree with me, but I don't think R2 did a spectacular job at making the remix's only noticeable if you listen closely. The theme just plays a little bit too often for me. Although admittedly I'm just nitpicking now.

Rayman 3 tried a lot more with music, and I think it was very successful. Each world has it's own style and none of them are bad. As I've probably said before at some point, The Bog of Murk is among some of my favourite game music because some of the tracks are just a few sounds quietly building up, and it all creates an outstanding feeling. Clearleaf Forest really has a sound of nature in itself, The Desert of the Knaaren's music really adds onto the concept of being inside a cave system filled with creatures, and the Fairy Glade has some magical tunes. A lot of care went into it, especially when you consider that a track like Hall of Mirrors plays for maybe ten seconds unless you stand still, and yet it's still great. I think the main problem with Rayman 3's music is the game taking away the ability to fully enjoy it. I hate it when that music from the Bog of Murk is playing and then suddenly a funky Hoodmonger tracks comes bursting trough. It breaks down what it was building and that's such a shame. I wish Rayman 3 had been bigger so the combat sections and cutscenes could have been more stretched out from each other, giving the game more time to show it's beauty, and I think that's what makes R2 more appealing. A lot more appealing. Just a platforming section where you can let the music and look of things really get involved with the gameplay.

Shragger was never more mentioned since the release of Rayman Origins. You don't see her or listen a word about her in Rayman Legends so we cannot be sure she's still working in there with Legends. It is also possible she left, I'm just going to say that the lack of story of RO might say a lot.

What about Rayman Origins, where you also often listen to its typical tune?:

Yeah but in Origins it's pretty well done, whereas in Rayman 2 it's a bit lazy and would make the soundtrack forgettable, but it does not. The Rayman 2 soundtrack is spectacular, and Chevalier makes the "lazy" repeating of the main motif nice to listen to and pleasing and gives me an earection :D

I wouldn't exactly call the reuse of the main theme in several other works lazy, but rather close to the classics. People like Mozart and Beethoven did it all the time. It's very typical in (classically inclined) music and it works very well, usually.

In my opinion, I guess Rayman 1 and Origins are hand in hand my favorites. I say it because I feel like they have the most variety.

A bad news for me: my brother's PSPlus subscription has just expired. This means i can't play Rayman Origins free on my PSVita... at least i got a photo of all my records...

Anyways, i waas thinking about it, and realized that Rayman 1 are really similar to Origins in specific terms, like the worlds ( Jibberish Jungle - Dream Forest, Desert of Dijiridoos - Band Land, Gourmand Land - Candy Chateau, Mystical Pique - Blue Mountains ), the World Map, collecting Electoons, Betilla and the Magician, Mr Dark being the main enemy, the enemies like hunters, lividstones, darktoons, the Photoboard that appears at the end of the levels...

But on the other hand, Rayman Legends is a bit more similar to Rayman 2, but i can't really relate them to each other - the fact that there are Teensies to free, Pirate-like lividstones, Lums playing a major role ( unlocking levels and characters, increasing awesomeness rank ) than just freeing Electoons and collecting - worthless - Lum Medals, but that's it. They don't have as much similarities as RO and R1.

This isn't nearly as bad as the Lum King music in Origins.

Muddibogs, anyone? :mryellow:

I'm glad the Lum King song seems to be removed from RL. I was finding cute at first but it starts to prove how annoying it can be when you replay levels of the entire game from scratch.
