I honestly never played any of these games or any of the past games of GTA and Bioshock. Even less The Last of Us since I don't have a PS3. So I can't say anything about them. I heard good things about The Last of Us though. I can see the other wins easily since they got a story. But hey it still got to be a nominee! Also because they are M rated doesn't change anything to their chances.

Why would this be a joke? Back to Origins is a perfect opportunity to revisit story elements that were botched in the previous game. The PlayStation version of Rayman 2 did something very similar to what I'm suggesting.

I wasn't complaining about Mr. Dark. Just the anti-climatic cutscene ending once you beat the game.

"Anti-climactic cutscene"? That's your problem right there. The cutscene is no the climax of the game. It's the ending. The climax of the game is when we punch Mr Dark's third form in the head the eighth time and send him flying. We experience the action ourselves through gameplay. Why would you want to sit back and watch an animated Rayman do it without you?

Spiraldoor... the villain running away and showing us a bunch of goofballs that we must beat isn't what I would call an outstanding ending. It was not satisfying at all.

So you would have them remove the unique ending in which Mr Dark shifts into monstrous hybrids of the previous bosses and replace it with a "real fight against Mr Dark"? They did that in the Game Boy Color version. It was boring and formulaic.

And if your theory about Mr Dark becoming a mutant isn't right (yeah, more confusion than RO), then that means he escaped, which leads to a freaking awful ending.

It's not my theory at all. It's made abundantly clear in the original Jaguar version that the hybrid bosses are Mr Dark. Please explain why you find this simple premise so confusion.

Oh, IGN just released an official timeline Rayman. If you scroll, you can see the whole thing animated. It's pretty cool.

It's curious to say, though, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 and TV Party don't seem to be considered canon, but the first one is.

In what sense is this an "official timeline"? This is just a cursory list of major Rayman games and contains no narrative information at all. I don't see anything to indicate that it even came from Ubisoft.
