Re: Rayman 1
@emshomar You do realize GOG owns nothing? They did not made DOSBox. They just payed UbiSoft so they can include Rayman on GOG.
Second, Lots of private people try to get their game on Steam introducing it on greenlight. you could try contacting UbiSoft and make deal with them.

You do realize that it is most likely not that you pay first from start? You put game on sale and when someone purchase it, Ubi takes profit. At least I think thats how it works. Anyone who knows 100% can tell me.

Re: Rayman 1
The thing is Rayman Mega Patch is supposed to be just a free patch (a good one) without making any profit of it!

Re: Rayman 1
I meant that you could make a deal with Ubisoft to sell the game, with your alterations and configurations, on Steam without need of activation. You could still keep your original patch up, but you could also attempt to release a version on Steam, so more people who want to get the game (within the boundaries of the law) could.emshomar wrote:The thing is Rayman Mega Patch is supposed to be just a free patch (a good one) without making any profit of it!

Hmm.. I am not that buisness guy. I wouldn't be able to do this alone, so no forget it.technology4617 wrote:I meant that you could make a deal with Ubisoft to sell the game, with your alterations and configurations, on Steam without need of activation. Re: Rayman 1
If I made a patch like you did, I would contact Ubi.

Re: Rayman 1
If I'd contact Ubisoft for an agreement to sell this on Steam, I'll need to pay them. That's what you said. But the question is how much I'll need to pay them? I don't have much money. Then the next question is if Steam would allow to sell this. If they denied I wasted money. It is all about speciulation, and I don't like it if an issue is not fixed. So I better work with someone I can trust well, what actually means forget it.
Re: Rayman 1
I think it could be a good chance for Ubi to make some money, if they were agreeing in integrating Omar's patch.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.emshomar wrote:If I'd contact Ubisoft for an agreement to sell this on Steam, I'll need to pay them.
Re: Rayman 1
I also really don't know how it works but I believe it all starts with a contact.

Re: Rayman 1
Ubisoft can have it all for them, as long as I can still hold the "activation-not-free" version up.Haruka wrote:I think it could be a good chance for Ubi to make some money, if they were agreeing in integrating Omar's patch.

Blaa, buisness stuff is complicated. Does there really have to be an activation-free version? The version that is currently available works as well.

Do not force me to specify.OldClassicGamer wrote:How do you plan living in future?
This went way off topic btw. Rayman 1 is the most favourite game and I love it! That's way future generations should also play Rayman 1 on their PC with my Rayman Mega Patch. [/advertaisement]
Re: Rayman 1
While i say there should be a HD remake of the Original game, with somewhat easier gameplay ( just to ensure it won't be extremely difficult for new players ), but with the same gaming feel, same musics, same gameplay mechanics, and last but not least, it needs so much more levels, because the original 18 are just short...emshomar wrote:Do not force me to specify.OldClassicGamer wrote:How do you plan living in future?

Anyway, people can't play the game with your mega patch if they don't have the game disc.
