About the music - I can't work on the soundtrack yet because I have a really difficult exam tomorrow, and, you know, studying goes first. I will post a link to the official soundtrack tomorrow evening though, and I'll start working on the ripped soundtrack seriously on Friday.

Re: Rayman Legends
Here's another random fact: out of all the songs they put into the Back to Origins mode, only one is new. Sadly, it's just music for a cage/force field challenge in Gourmand Land. :/

Re: Rayman Legends
Desert of Didgeridoos was my least favourite world as well. Kind of a coincidence cause Toad Story has the same main theme which is a remix of Desert of Didgeridoos. Sounds a lot better if you ask me, pretty soothing. But yeah I'm thoroughly excited, only 1 day left peopleBionichute wrote:
The third part of that Let's Play. It covers a bit of Toad Story, and from what I've seen, it's going to be my least favorite world, like how the Desert of Didgeridoos was my least favorite world in Origins. Doesn't mean it isn't fun looking.
Also that painting at the end there is badass.
Re: Rayman Legends
That's not a coincidence. Toad Story was based on the Desert of Dijiridoos. It's the "music" world of this game (at least it says so in the files), just like Desert of Dijiridoos was the music world of last game. Plus, there's a lot of elements from the Desert of Dijiridoos that return in Toad Story, as you can see in the video.EvanEDavies wrote:Kind of a coincidence cause Toad Story has the same main theme which is a remix of Desert of Didgeridoos.
Re: Rayman Legends
I don't like desert levels but Origins did it well, what with the musical approach.

Re: Rayman Legends
Looks like my copy of Legends is getting delivered on Friday, great! I have deliberately avoided every video and article about the game for months, though from what I can see it's getting great reviews.

Funny, it was my favourite world by far in Origins. Probably out of nostalgia for Band Land.EvanEDavies wrote:Desert of Didgeridoos was my least favourite world as well.
Re: Rayman Legends
I think the Gourmand Land (Glaciar Cocktail) was my least favourite world in Origins. I can't find an explanation for it, but it might be linked with the ice physics or the level design, I'm not quite sure.

Am I the only one who noticed that [the levels where you have to save the princesses are based on the levels from the Challenges?
Teensies in Trouble-Murfy's Dungeon
Toad Story-Neverending Pit
20.000 Lums under the Sea-The Dojo

[ I noticed it. At least the part 3 of that walkthrough shows some interesting mechanics. ]

spiraldoor wrote:That's actually brilliant. How the hell could they have thought "Castle Rock" was an improvement? It's like they're trying to use the blandest, least Rayman-like names they can imagine.
I really miss the poetic, self-descriptive level names from the original trilogy. Take “It's a Jungle Out There...” or “Hi-Ho Moskito!”, some action-oriented level names (among many) from Origins. Not only did I have to check RayWiki to remember them, to me they just sound like the team ran out of imagination and gave up on giving those places a name. The Swamps of Forgetfulness is a level and a place. Rayman Origins levels are, well, just levels.Rulez wrote:Fucking Sergio, Dragon Slayer is kinda fine but the regular level names aren't even too descriptive, whereas Rayman 1 described the area at least a bit, like Bongo Hills. And it didn't have names as forgettable as Origins did.
I was never too fond of the Glacier Cocktail-like levels either, it just felt a bit too bland to me.Haruka wrote:I think the Gourmand Land (Glaciar Cocktail) was my least favourite world in Origins. Re: Rayman Legends
On the other hand I enjoyed most the Mystical Pique and Desert of Dijiridoos.

Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah I agree, maybe something to do with just the whole atmosphere. My favourites were the Mystical Pique and LotLD. And of course Rayman never goes wrong with a nice lush forest level as wellHaruka wrote:I think the Gourmand Land (Glaciar Cocktail) was my least favourite world in Origins. Re: Rayman Legends
@Evan I found the Jibberish Jungle too green, it felt more being on an Earthling landscape rather than in a Gladish one, if you know what I mean.

Look at this landscape from the Dream Forest. There is so many colour!
While in here...

Uhm... Yeah.

Re: Rayman Legends
Out of all the worlds in Origins, I think I liked Mystical Pique the most - mainly because it was the world with the most atmosphere (the interior at least), with the second (and also my second favourite) being the Infernal Kitchen in Gourmand Land. Glacier Cocktail was bland as Hunch says, and I also really didn't like the music there. I also agree with you about Jibberish Jungle, Haruka. It's too "normal" - too bland, but not as much as Glacier Cocktail. I like how they've added surreal elements (the walking pieces of land) and more colours to the jungle world in Rayman Legends though

Re: Rayman Legends
Mod aren't monsters. He doesn't seem like the type of user that would let himself go for intentionally childish responses like mine. At this point I think he knows how to deal with me. I used to be worse with him, though. If I remember, I once told him a "your mama" joke. Compared to the older days, Spiraldoor and me have build a pretty solid relationship nowadays <3Rayfist wrote: Kidding or not, I'd be a bit careful what you say to the mods. :/
Re: Rayman Legends
Hm, I wouldn't say Glacier Cocktail had the worst music. I do love how Legends is more surreal with its settings and worlds, especially Fiesta de los Muetros.

Re: Rayman Legends
The walking pieces of land are cool, pretty creepy (yet still whimsical).
I liked all the really lush greens forest areas in RO, maybe because they reminded me a little more of R2 (fav game) rather than R1.
