'Irrelevant', as in he entered a conversation using an irrelevant and invalid argument. My post was outside the current conversation, as a response to his. That's not 'irrelevant'. :boon: Besides, my post actually tied in to the problems Legends has; a good description of Legends actually is a comedy with too many jokes.
Drolpiraat wrote:You have just ignored more than half of the game.
He also seems to ignore more than half of everyone's posts.
Is that even supposed to mean anything? Is that some kind of an explanation? Clearly you don't have any particular reason or rhyme to the arguments you pose, they pretty much seem to be just the first things that come to your mind without any real thought process. Instead of trying to elaborate to maybe expand my view if you believe you do have a valid point, you instead post nonsense images that hope to get a laugh from the audience through your 'eccentrism'.

This is either fitting to put between these discussions or not, I don't know but I want to say things. I know that Ubisoft intended RL to be just about playing the game and having fun but dear fucking gosh, look at the potential for a nice story to go along! In the Rayman franchise I have always wanted to learn about all these characters, see their personality and listen to their dialogue. In RL, they all look so interesting, topped with great magical atmospheres, but then it becomes a disappointment when you never get any reason for what is going on and the only descriptions for these guys are just those little ones in the gallery. I don't want to think of Rayman simply as some guy who I have to control. Rant about how I am getting seriously hungry for at least some kind of storytelling number whatever ends here.

I'm not seeking a defense for Rayman 3, I'm defending all things factual and rational, which were things severely lacking from your arguments. I can understand if you're tired of the argument, but why not just say so? If you don't want to continue, then simply state that you're inconclusive and don't wish to remain holding your ground. It's not that hard.

Are you a fan of tings, by any chance? I might have to borrow some of yours to spend on something a little higher quality than spam.

You know Ad? he's technically not doing spam. He's just saying that he prefers not to care about problems and ignore the situation and you just keep bashing him for that. If I remember correctly, Michel Ancels wishes he could be Globox so he could be stupid and be relaxed about anything. Let him be. Don't force him to care about such a ridiculous discussion. If I were him and you told that to me I would rather insult you for being such a meddling asshat, at least he's being pacient.

Also, if prefering Rayman Legends over Rayman 3 makes me irrational, irrational I'll be, then.

Thing is with Legends is that, yes it's clear that the game wasn't made to be heavily story-driven and that doesn't make it a bad game. But it's lack of storytelling is it's biggest flaw. It's exactly as GN said; you meet these characters and see all these levels but you hardly know anything about them, only thing plausible about it is that it's more than what Origins gave us. Of course given the style of gameplay of both games have it'd be hard to make any sort of story, they probably could of had more dialogue in between levels but I can't see either games having cutscenes like they did in R2 or R3.

I also prefer Rayman Legends much more over Rayman 3 and you don't see me going into all these arguments.

I do prefer Rayman 3 than Rayman Legends as well simply because in Rayman 3 I have the 3-dimensional environment and a cool storyline (or does Rayman Legends also have a story?) But for now I can't say more because I did not buy and played it and probably not in the next 3-4months.

.... dude, you truly went nowhere with that comment. Try Rayman Legends, then talk.

Hmm, it does seem that this perpetual debate is souring moods a little, though I'm compelled to side with Ad, Droolie and Haruka, it's clear that everyone is keen to stick to their guns.

Then why are you then even commenting if you did not played Legends?

I don't think 3D automatically makes Rayman better. The 2D games are just as gorgeous. In 3D it's like a Pixar film and in 2D it's like a painting. The real reason why R3 is better in my opinion is how the whole nature of the game just really clicks on me, having more of a comedic tone but with some not-amazing-but-decent storyline to it. If only the UbiArt games had some story too, the order of my top Rayman games list would've probably been different.

...aaaand this has been another "WHERE IS THE STORY I WANT THE STORY WAAH" post from me.

I just realized that one of the balloon creatures is actually a reused sprite of those "Hey! Catch them all!" things from the first gameplay trailer at E3.

He's being an immature brat. If he doesn't care about posing a thought-out and logical argument (which is something he directly implied himself), then he shouldn't post his poorly thought-out and illogical argument. If he thinks my feedback is unwarranted even though he did it anyway, then he should either not respond, explain why his posts are alright or admit to the problems with his post, not be a cheeky, rebellious little fuck and shout "I don't care what anybody thinks about what I do, no matter how stupid and intrusive it is LOL!" at the top of his lungs. his last two posts in response to me have been useless, unproductive, immature and void of all meaning and content, which by all means constitutes as spam.
sergiomonty wrote:If I remember correctly, Michel Ancels wishes he could be Globox so he could be stupid and be relaxed about anything.
I'm sure he was joking; he wouldn't have come up with the idea of Rayman 1 and 2 if he hasn't had at least some kind of deep thought process. Also, why are you using Ancel as an example? He's just a human, and placing his thoughts up on a pedestal is argumentum ad verecundiam in its most literal, upright form.
sergiomonty wrote:Let him be.
I did, right here:
Adsolution wrote:whatever works for you, I guess...?
I expressed my views on his decision and then left it at that, hoping he wouldn't attempt to do something he clearly said he had no interest in doing. Then he did it anyway (yes, I'm aware he posted this before I did, but that doesn't matter):
TheTempurmental wrote:I appreciate a game for what it's trying to be. If it wants to be story-driven, than it should have a good story. RL is a Gameplay-driven game, and the gameplay is great, so in my book, that equals a good game. Criticizing RL for being too focused on gameplay is like saying a comedy movie has too many funny parts. I know the previous games have had deep plots, but all the Rayman games are unique, too! RL is just another addition to the collection of diverse games we call a franchise, I don't see why it has to be so much like the others.
And what do you know? It was flawed as hell. If he doesn't want to use his brain when he posts, then he's wasting everyone's time.
sergiomonty wrote:Don't force him to care about such a ridiculous discussion.
Wtf? I didn't force him into anything, he forced himself into it by doing what was mentioned above, posing an argument even though he clearly said he wasn't going to use his head. If he hadn't posted that, I would have no reason to critique his utterly abysmal-quality thoughts. :boon:
sergiomonty wrote:If I were him and you told that to me I would rather insult you for being such a meddling asshat, at least he's being pacient.
Then you're a fool.

Well, geez man. I was just havin' a little fun with you! I was not trying to start anything with that post, sorry. I'm just lighting things up with silly responses so I don't have to partake in an arguement I'm not interested in. No hard feeling intended. I thought it would be lighthearted and funny, apparently not...

@Serza I honestly don't like underwater levels normally, but I think the way it was done in RL was much more pleasant. It might be linked with the fact it is mixed with a spy-alike theme.

I aways thought it was some what of a James Bond theme.
