One of the challenge mode areas, where you control Murphy to deal with obstacles. (I'm not getting something, am I?).Adsolution wrote:Who's dungeon now?Master wrote:@TFDs, You can walk in Murphy's dungeon, you might find it easier to deal with some obstacles.

Re: Rayman Legends
It's cuz he spelled Murfy as "Murphy".
Re: Rayman Legends
Murphy is the spelling I prefer. Problem?
I think it is right to say both Murphy and Murfy. Same like Teensy and Teensie. It is same word, just alternative spelling. Just like Color and Colour.

Re: Rayman Legends
The Rayman Murfy is spelled with an F, and always has been. 'Teensie' and 'Teensy' were both official designations, wheras 'Murphy' was a typo, a mistake, that appeared once in Rayman 3, so in no way is it an alternate spelling.
It's like calling someone Geoff when their name is Jeff, or calling someone Kristal when their name is Chrystal. It's just incorrect.

It is like the situation of Henchman 800 and Hunchman 800, it was a typo of Rayman M.
Re: Rayman Legends
Excellent point. My main disappoint with Origins was the abrupt ending. I was expecting some explanation or anything. Then I proceed to play The Land of the Livid Dead and still don't get anything. What was even the point of the intro cutscene when the Livid Dead don't even appear in the main game.GNineify wrote:This is either fitting to put between these discussions or not, I don't know but I want to say things. I know that Ubisoft intended RL to be just about playing the game and having fun but dear fucking gosh, look at the potential for a nice story to go along! In the Rayman franchise I have always wanted to learn about all these characters, see their personality and listen to their dialogue. In RL, they all look so interesting, topped with great magical atmospheres, but then it becomes a disappointment when you never get any reason for what is going on and the only descriptions for these guys are just those little ones in the gallery. I don't want to think of Rayman simply as some guy who I have to control. Rant about how I am getting seriously hungry for at least some kind of storytelling number whatever ends here.
I see Origins/Legends as separate from the trilogy, as their clearly not interested in connecting them, but that only makes me question more why they advertised it as a throwback to Rayman 1.

Re: Rayman Legends
I prefer to call him Murfy. Even if in Rayman 3 he's accidentally named Murphy, I clearly see Michel Ancel didn't want him to be called like that.

Yep, no doubt about it, Murfy's the only true Flying Encyclopedia. I personally prefer "Teensie" as it sounds better than "Teensy" when I pronounce it. That last "y" is a bit too short for me.
About that, it may be Lum for illumination and not for dumb, but I still prefer Lums/Lumz for dumb. The enemies in Rayman 3 were named "Hoodlums", not "Hoodlooms".

I agree as well, there's just no point in going on. It's clear that we won't convince one another. In the end we were both just repeating our arguments anyway.sergiomonty wrote:Don't worry HarukaHaruka wrote:@Sergio I admit for once I got scared, but could we calm down the storm a little? I was kinda irritated, but now I'm okay.
...Hopefully this discussion ends here

Ah, fair enough.
@Ad, I do get mixed up with the spellings, I'll be sure to use Murfy from now on.

Re: Rayman Legends
The only level I had trouble with was Infiltration Station's invasion level. It required doing everything right in order to save the 3 Teensies, and boy was it frustrating. I didn't even have that hard of a time with the Living Dead Party levels, I think I beat them all on my first go.

Re: Rayman Legends
Eh. I think they also lost a great opportunity with the Magician here. He's a cute villain... but I expected something more... you know, actually threatening from him, not just his pets. Like, I wanted his story to continue, but here he's just an asshole who wants to squeeze female teensies' personal areas.
I also expect he turns back into his actual unique self. I wouldn't really like to see the 5 dark teensies again. The same character clonated 5 times seems more lazy than Koopalings.

Re: Rayman Legends
I also was expecting Magician to have bigger role. I mean I do prefer his R1 persona, but his RO persona is still something interesting. I was hoping RL would have cutscenes as well, giving detailed backstory of Magician and stuff like that.
Re: Rayman Legends
I agree. I prefer to say Teensie than Teensy. In Rayman: Hoodlums Revenge, Teensie was written just like "Teensie". And I kinda prefer to say Lum (dumb), but at the same time I sometimes say in the French way (illumination), that I believe it makes more sense than the original english way.Drolpiraat wrote: I personally prefer "Teensie" as it sounds better than "Teensy" when I pronounce it. Re: Rayman Legends
Actually, the closest sound in English to the French way of pronouncing illumination is the "dumb" pronunciation. So the "loom" pronunciation is quite different from the original French one, but it is a pronunciation that keeps the link with "illumination" intact for English speakers.Haruka wrote:I agree. Yeah, that would have been cool. I only expected something to happen when the 5 Dark Teensies were reunited. Wouldn't it have been epic if there was one final level that took place on the moon where you would have to fight the 5 Dark Teensies, transformed into one big boss, say, Mr Dark? (not that I expected that much) It would have been quite a bit more rewarding.OldClassicGamer wrote:I also was expecting Magician to have bigger role. Re: Rayman Legends
There is still a possibility that Magician and Mr. Dark are somehow connected. At least I believe into that. And not simply that Magician is "just" a fan of Mr. Dark.
