it is more of a successor then a spin-off in my opinion

A "spiritual successor," fellow in question is the Michel Ancel of the Megaman series, he left Capcom, owners of Megaman, some time ago, and is now in an indie studio trying to continue Megaman's legacy, seeing how Capcom kindly botched it up.
@OCG, is that the real deal? Or fanmade?

it is real. It can be heared in Kickstarter video as well. Oh and yeah Master, Inafune can be really compared to Ancel since both of them are amazing people. It makes me really happy to know that such people exist.

I've never actually bothered to play the 2D Megaman games but I've lately been going trough all the praised games I can't give an opinion about so I might get an emulator up and running sometime.

Play the Mega Man 1-6 on NES Emulator
Play Mega Man 7 on SNES Emulator
Play Mega Man 8 on PS1 Emulator (Warning, English voice acting is just aweful, so I suggest you get Japanese ISO)
Play Mega Man X1-X3 on SNES Emulator
Play Mega Man X4-X6 on PC or PS1 Emulator
Play X7 and X8 on PC (BTW X8 is finally first Mega Man game where English voice acting was good)
Once you beat all of them, you will realize how wonderful series is. Other spin-offs are not great (like Battle Network or Zero series)

That looks pretty amazing, I've been watching some of the trailers, and some of the improvements they've added makes this quite impressive, if only your average HD remake had this kind of effort behind it.

Oooooh, I'd have to plug my Wii-U into my IPS monitor to see the ultimate color quality too.

I don't see such a big difference between Coke and Pepsi (same case as BurgerKing and McDonalds), but there's this one aspect making me prefer Pepsi Cola...

Same. Although I adore those cola bottle sweets, especially the ones coated in sugar.

Indeed, I'm not one for sweets in general, but when I do, it's usually the cola bottles or the large strawberries.

Really? To me, McDonald's and Burger King are on two opposite sides of the spectrum, both in complexion and taste.
