Re: Rayman Legends
Just in case, shall I remind you that R2 still remains as one of my favourites and that I still enjoyed R3

Bubsy 3D would have been a masterpiece if the platforming was better.
It already got "Gold X Award"

Re: Rayman Legends
Got all 700 Teensies now but still got some gold Lum medals to go yet as well as getting the million and the 11th awesomeness. This will all take some time.
Re: Rayman Legends
on PS3 I got all medals, 700 teensies, lvl 10 and about 520 000 lums
on PC I got all medals, 700 teensies, lvl 10 and about 480 000 lums
still miss about a total of 1 000 000 lums :/

Re: Rayman Legends
I think that if there were to be a 3D game or another 2D game, especially a 2D game, I would just be tired of it. The whole concept of the wacky enemies, the fast paced music, the dumb main characters. It's fun, sure, but I don't think Rayman would remain among my favourite series is from now everything that's Rayman equals that. I remember when I got the demo for Legends and I played Toad's Story and I was quite surprised. Rather then being just like Teensies in Trouble it started out with this very calming and beautiful environment. So I'm just having a great time appreciating this and then suddenly that stops. Boom. Silly frogs. Fast music kicks in. You gotta start fighting.sergiomonty wrote:Seriously? Really?
I like the Origins/Legends Glade. It's silly, but not as fucknuts silly as many of you say. At least Legends tried to be more atmospheric and less wacky.
Many seem to forget that the final boss in Rayman 2 was cartoonish and wacky as fuck. Especially with those crazy legs.
Rayman 3 tried to establish a serious atmosphere with a crazy comedic cast, and that's why it is my least favorite Rayman adventure game. I don't know. I just... prefer Rayman's world to be surreal, cartoonish and crazy but at the same time calm, gorgeous, atmospheric and heartwarming.
Fuck that shit.
Fuck it.
Fuck it to hell.
It's just such an immense disappointment. I'm being given this vibe of a real Rayman game and then Legends just has to pull a dick move like that. Now don't get me wrong, I like Origins, I like Legends (Or at least the demo because I still can't play it), but it just doesn't do it for me. I'm not saying slow paced gameplay = Better atmosphere, but all the jumping around and smacking weird things in the face is, for me, the exact opposite of what makes the trilogy among my favourite games of all time. Not until Moody Clouds did Origins give me somewhat decent interest in the game in terms of what it's actually about. I was more enjoying it in the sense of "Wow, this platforming is great." And I like that, but I want to enjoy Rayman in the sense of "This environment is beautiful." I don't know the story of Legends, but if it's going to be nonsensical again it will disappoint me. The intro of Origins doesn't even have to do anything with the actual game. I didn't see any Livid Dead in the game. Then suddenly the Magician is bad and he escapes. Oh and then the Livid Dead have apparently just gone home and are no longer mad at Rayman & Co. Oh but hey, there's a new boss, maybe this'll clear up some thi-oh OK she is just another nymph that was apparently not important to the main story. The end.
For me, Pheonix's Rayman 4 will remain the ultimate concept for a Rayman game. It's filled with creativity and seems to include everything I love about Rayman or would like to see in a Rayman game. Just the idea of climbing the The World-Tree, looking over a strange Hall of Doors like sky, accompanied by a great soundtrack. That would be my favourite thing in this series.
Origins and Legends are great games, and their full of passion, but passion for other things then what reaches my interests. I can't wait to play Legends and I'm sure i'll enjoy it but I doubt it's going to make my top three. I play the trilogy at least once a year. I have yet to give Origins a second go since its release.
Re: Rayman Legends
Have to say I agree, Origins and Legends are a lot of fun, but there is no story or meaning. Those new games will never give me the same epxerience, as the three original games did.
I really hope they will make a new game with a good story and meaning, not just 'complete all the levels'

Re: Rayman Legends
I agree with most of what Keane said. I finished to replay RL for the second time (finishing the first time on Wii U though) and I thought better, and Rayman 3 is still superior to it and Legends for particular reasons, despite of being the shortest game of the trilogy and other "problems" it had. Between R3 and RL, I would hesitate less playing R3. Although the score is not easy to improve, it is still fun to play. Concerning Rayman Legends, I'm only playing the challenges when I can to get the final skins and the Level 11 of Awesomeness, and after I'll only play the game again when I feel wanting too (or to record the walkthrough I want to do next Summer, or if Ubi ever releases a DLC with new levels). Rayman Legends almost fooled me completely by thinking it is better than Rayman 3, but it got proven it is not. For Origins, I finished the game 5 times and I don't feel wanting to replay it so soon (especially with the return of the levels in RL). I think I would only play it again when I get the 3DS version but until there...
Rayman 4's concept art that got revealed relatively few time ago makes me having some kind of pity that more development wasn't done, the new worlds could have matched the atmospherical magic from the previous three games. I only couldn't see well how the costumes, the Rabbids and the plot itself would work in the game but this is what makes me also somehow relieved that the game wasn't made. Many people will disagree with me but I can't imagine Rayman and André cooperating for a same goal.

Re: Rayman Legends
I guess some of you have already done the math, do you actually need diamond cups in challenges to reach the final level of awesomeness? I'm already struggling to get gold cups!
Re: Rayman Legends
Hunch, you aren't forced to get Diamond Cups the whole time, but they indeed make you reach the goal of the Level 11 faster (50 points).
Gold cups give 10 points, Silver gives 5 and Bronze gives 1. I managed to get some Diamond Cups in the first days of the Challenges App for the Wii U but that was because there were very few people playing yet. Since then I nevermore managed to get a Diamond, only golds almost the whole time and more rarely, Silvers and Bronzes.
I did the maths for the Level 11 of Awesomeness in Wii U, and to get it I need to collect more 53 Gold Cups to reach it, which would be the equivalent of playing the game daily for 3,5 weeks and always getting gold. Sadly I can't play daily for now.

Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah, Haruka said it all. You need 6000 points to reach the last level, you get approximately 3800 points if i remember right through the main game.
Of course, diamond cups help you reach this amount faster, as they are worth 5 times as many points as golds are ( 50 points ), so it will take you a longer time to reach the last level if you do not get diamonds, or golds.
I have managed to get a diamond cup in every 36 challenge yet on the 360 and tomorrow i will for sure reach the 11th awesomeness, so I can say i have completed Legends in like 17 days which is a really huge amount of time, and i'm sure a lot of people will take an even bigger amount of time to complete the game. On the PSVita, which arrived on Friday, i have got only a gold cup in the daily extreme challenge ( Murfy's Dungeon ). I was first with a time of 31.09 and the second was 31.13 ( it seemed impossible to beat ) and then some people 3 people beat me, one of them with a really insane time, more than half seconds better if i remember right, and they all got diamond except me...
My stats for the game are:
Xbox 360
1.373.000 Lums, 700 Teensies and 5934 points
PSVita
530.000 Lums, 615 Teensies and about 3600-3800 points.
I will soon write a comparison and review of both the 360 and PSVita versions of the game.
Also Haruka, you have been playing the challenges since a long time ( Since April i think? ) so how is it possible that you still haven't reached the last awesomeness level? It has been like 4 months or so...

Re: Rayman Legends
I've been inching forward, and I'm still at 10 Awesomeness and 667 000 lums, got quite a ways to go still.
Re: Rayman Legends
I played practically daily until beginnings of June, but due to a panic attack and quickly developing to a depression, I didn't play more the Challenges App until endings of August. At least my Awesomeness level (of 7) got ported to the final game, and I rised up 3 levels during normal gameplay. In some months I can get the level 11 though, but on PC it will take much longer (on the other hand I can get Rayomz first). Do you get any Lums reward when you reach level 11? If yes, how much?Rayrobi wrote: Also Haruka, you have been playing the challenges since a long time ( Since April i think? ) so how is it possible that you still haven't reached the last awesomeness level? Aha i see now. Also, i don't yet know how many lums do you get then, i'll get to know it tomorrow though.Haruka wrote:I played practically daily until beginnings of June, but due to a panic attack and quickly developing to a depression, I didn't play more the Challenges App until endings of August. Re: Rayman Legends
Probably never reaching the 11th level, I can't play enough to even get gold cups all the time, and I still have 1800 points to go!
