It's a shame that didn't make it into the final game. The It's A Small World section is the only world that seems to stick with, as shown in concept art, Epic Mickey should and could have been. This would have made a great addition to that. Not that the first game is bad, great game really, but only rarely did I feel like I was exploring the dark world that the game was originally said to have.Master wrote:

@Keane, yeah, I saw some of the concept artwork and material back when Epic Mickey was first announced, it looked quite dark and bleak, an interesting and potentially brilliant direction, there were references to Disney history, just the same, but it was much wackier and darker, and the original DarkMickey looked quite twisted and fit his role as a destroyer.

You seem to have a thing going now where you hate using periods, even in paragraph-long posts.Master wrote:@Keane, yeah, I saw some of the concept artwork and material back when Epic Mickey was first announced, it looked quite dark and bleak, an interesting and potentially brilliant direction, there were references to Disney history, just the same, but it was much wackier and darker, and the original DarkMickey looked quite twisted and fit his role as a destroyer.
Though having never played the game, I always thought it had retained its dark, dramatic and artistic atmosphere. It's too bad to hear that that wasn't so.

Ah, excessive use of commas, now that is an issue I'm wholly aware of. It's been an issue that plagued me for many years, I often got told off for comma-splicing. I try to make a concious effort to avoid it, but I trip up sometimes.

It's just a shame that Epic Mickey 2 was such a flawed pile of shit. It still holds some of the charm but it feels much like a rehash and the side quests are so confusing and lacking good rewards that I never went back to complete them (Skipping easily five hours of the game). I could go on four hours about how many issues I had while playing trough it. The only thing that kept it interesting was the tragic Mad Doctor.
Do I drag my posts on too long? I feel like everything I write ends up being a wall of text.
Oh no. I tried to keep away from doing so but I do seem to be comma spamming again. :/Adsolution wrote:You seem to have a thing going now where you hate using periods, even in paragraph-long posts.
It was toned down. It's A Small World and Mickey Junk Mountain are some of the area's where it kept true to the dramatic style. The mountain climbing gives you some sad vibes. Despite that it still ranks among my favourite Wii titles though. A good #10 maybe. The environments are gorgeous and the story is fantastic. It really does make you care about Wasteland and despite being toned down it does have its moments. Mickey finding an already set up house for him to live in when the day he comes he'll be forgotten. Probably my favourite part being that if you choose the negative options, the ending will quickly reflect upon them in between the happy cutscenes.Adsolution wrote:Though having never played the game, I always thought it had retained its dark, dramatic and artistic atmosphere. @Keane, I believe that was directed at me, but, we're on the same boat regardless, it seems.
I never truly played through Epic Mickey, I looked at gameplay, and while it looked brilliant, barring the Clockwork Tower and a few other things, it didn't seem to stand out as much as it did when I first read about its initial premise.
I played a Demo of Epic Mickey 2 for PS3, and, yeah, it wasn't anything special at all.

My opinions on the game would equal this:
The odd and dark world really drags me in. The magical, twisted world that can be uplifting or throw you into the deep. It's a kind of feel that I'd like to have gotten from Rayman 4. Incredible atmosphere, lovable characters you care about, an excellent soundtrack, creative platforming. I love Rayman 2 for the same reasons.

I forgot this song somehow. Having put aside Rush of Blood for a long time (Played it grey for a year straight) it feels great to enjoy these tracks again.

I've been in a bit of a thrash mood rather recently. Thrash is quite possibly the one and only genre that genuinely puts me in a "I want to kick immeasurable amounts of ass and fuck bitches" mood.

Parts of this music remind of the music from the GBC Rayman games (Especially 0:23 to 0:35 and 0:47 to 1:09), and the level in this picture reminds me of legends, with all the big and small guys (Including some flying ones).

Fact: 90% of what I listen to is from video games.
