Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I do feel some parts of SA were a bit dated, however for the most part, I still find the game good. My friend thought the controls were a bit twitchy, and while I do agree, you seriously need to give props where they are due, Sonic Adventure, while controls are a bit twitchy, seriously managed a good gameplay experience. I wouldn't be so harsh on the game, this was Sonics first actual free-roaming game, the transition from 2d to 3d (excluding the Saturn titles), is often a fatal one, and I think Sonic handled this very well.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Mario, Sonic, Gex, Rayman handeled transition from 2D to 3D very well.
Bubsy's transition was terrible plus it's not like his games were good before.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
true, but i thought the colour scheme reminded me of a cross of adventure and colors. gameplaywise, we can roll again so it also reminded me of classic and dreamcast gameplay. i saw the 3ds gameplay.OldClassicGamer wrote:It does not use SA engine. So how is it Dreamcast-type game? Gameplay mechanics are not even close.

Bubsy just went from bad, to even worse.OldClassicGamer wrote:Bubsy's transition was terrible plus it's not like his games were good before.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I am suprised how the first game even sold enough to get sequel.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Not to say the same thing many have said, but isn't '06 technically Adventure 3?
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
That game is too much of a Sonic disgrace to be considered as SA 3. If it did not have problems it did, then it would have a chance. Heck, if game did not have glitches, had better map like GTA has and better loading time, it would maybe be in my top 5 Sonic games.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Personally, it might have had some potential, but there are some cases of general bad design in 06

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I can't describe how happy I felt when watching this trailer. It was so amazingly done. I want to get this game even more then before.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
Very, very impressive, indeed. The 3DS version doesn't look that bad either, though I must admit, I was feeling more of the Galaxy feel here than before.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I'm very amazed, that tropical looking level looks really fucking neat.
I was also seriously stunned by the 3ds version, when it came on for the first few seconds I thought the Wii U version was still showing, seriously.
So bloody glad I pre-ordered this game. I'm pretty upset it's coming out on a Tuesday for me though, fucking School.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
I hope 3DS version is good like it seemed on the trailer, but sergio did say that 3DS version was criticised.

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog
He did indeed, I guess we'll have to let the reviews speak, here's hoping DIMPS does manage to make the 3DS version comparable to the Wii U version, unlike their attempt at Generations.
