I knew anime's from japan. but unless we really want a anime thread to acompany the cartoon thread, it may as well be here.OldClassicGamer wrote:Both Anime and Cartoons are part of Animation, but they are not the same thing at all. Anime is Animation that originates from Japan (and few other Asian countries) while Cartoon is Animation that originates from rest of the world. Not to mention that style of drawing is totally different.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Anyways, I edited previous post to make some stuff more clear more clear, and I do think we should merge Anime topic and Cartoon topic.
Re: Cartoon Shows
*Goes to check* Well, that's... a quite big change, but I honestly like it. It looks fresh, stylish and no worse than the original look if you ask me. Maybe it's a hard piece to swallow for these who don't like change, but as a very welcoming person myself when it comes to changes, I'm eager to see this style in motion. I'm not judging it further before that.Dark Lum Lord wrote:GN, have you seen Steven Universe's redesign? What in the Hell were they on when they decided to do that? I think the redesign may even look a bit better.GNineify wrote:*Goes to check* Well, that's... a quite big change, but I honestly like it. Re: Cartoon Shows
I'm not of fan of this new design and I'm still not fully over it, but it's still not bad. My main problem with it is that it looks simpler - not that there's anything wrong with that, but nearly every cartoon out there nowadays is like that, so it gets boring quite quickly - and the fact that it seems like a bit of an Adventure Time facade.GNineify wrote:*Goes to check* Well, that's... a quite big change, but I honestly like it. Re: Cartoon Shows
I just checked Cartoon Network on TV and it seems that despite not being UK Cartoon Network, it brodcasts Gormiti Nature Unleashed on Saturday and Sunday.I guess it is local Cartoon Network. Can't wait to watch it.
Re: Cartoon Shows
I haven't really sat down and watched a cartoon series fully in a while but I'm gonna give Avatar a go. I'll tell you all what I think tomorrow because I know you care.
Re: Cartoon Shows
Maybe this weekend I'll probably watch Avatar. Also tomorrow is a new Wander. Looks entertaining!
Re: Cartoon Shows
Heck yeah, more Wander. Though they've shown a shitload of preview footage of the next episode, which isn't a good idea. I hope this one won't be too predictable.
Also, someone scanned the whole Steven Universe zine which contains lots of artwork.

Avatar is amazing.
Instantly fell in love with it in the first episode.

Re: Cartoon Shows
just saw legend of korra S2EP3, it was both heart-warming and heart-wrenching. lots of romance and sibling rivalry. still feels a TAD over the top, and slightly deja-vu from S1. any thoughts on it?

Re: Cartoon Shows
Still haven't started Korra, methinks I'll start in the October Half-term, that'll be a reasonable gap from last week, where I'd just finished the Last Airbender. That way, I won't feel burnt out.

I haven't watched any cartoons lately and I'm in the mood too but I'm too lazy to do so. I'll get around to doing it eventually.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Watching Korra? If you like that, you'll most definitely enjoy Aang's tales too. From what I've heard several people say, Korra's story is quite alright, but has no chance of living up to Aang's (which doesn't really surprise me - I mean, they put at least 6 years worth of preparation into Aang, the philosophies used and the characters, music, animation and... well... everything just blended together seemlessly and wonderfully).Keane wrote:Avatar is amazing.Instantly fell in love with it in the first episode.

Re: Cartoon Shows
The same happened to me with The Last Airbender, however I never really got around to watching Korra for some explainable, odd reason. It could be thanks to my procrastination, though, which would be a good guess. Either way, I need to force myself to watch Korra otherwise my life would be incomplete.Keane wrote:Avatar is amazing.Instantly fell in love with it in the first episode.

Re: Cartoon Shows
Korra is one of the few shows i'm watching along with Dangan Ronpa, Attack on Titan, Free!, and RWBY. I do believe all of those though are finishing fairly soon.

Re: Cartoon Shows
know of any good non-cartoon tv shows then? the only ones live-action shows i've watched thoroughly are Drake&Josh, Big Bang Theory, and Doctor Who. @shrooblord i'd say you're statement is fairly accurate, I mean nobody in avatar will be cooler than sokka and iroh. but i'm loving the strong female lead and the shorter plot arc's so far, despite it making korra's season starters feel a bit rough.Dark Lum Lord wrote:I haven't watched any cartoons lately and I'm in the mood too but I'm too lazy to do so. Re: Cartoon Shows
Well, I've never gotten into live-action TV shows much at all, and although I haven't seen much of it at all, I do enjoy Dr. Who. Freaks and Geeks is a live-action show that I simply adore. And there might be some others but I'm not sure; my focus has always been on cartoons.
