Dealt with, sorry Bzzit, but Shroobie has stated in the past that he doesn't want to be spoiled, something as hefty as that will certainly be a surprise to him when the moment comes, but as of now, I think he'd rather just wait without any knowledge of said surprise.

Re: Doctor Who
xD
I should probably read up on past spoilers by now, but I'm always afraid they may contain something about a future episode I don't want to know about.
Thing is, I want to discuss these things, but it's like hearing the end of a good movie or book when you're half-way there - you don't want that kind of stuff.
Thanks for looking out for me, Master!

Re: Doctor Who
I know, I'd love to stop off in Cardiff one day, and go to the Doctor Who Experience hosted there, they've got quite a few TARDIS consoles of old, including RTD Era 'un, if I recall correctly.

Re: Doctor Who
Double post, some details have been revealed about the 50th:
The BBC has announced a raft of programmes to mark the 50th anniversary of the first episode of Doctor Who.
A 75-minute special called The Day Of The Doctor will star [ the soon-to-leave Matt Smith and David Tennant.]
Smith said: “Hope you all enjoy. There’s lots more coming your way.”
Other highlights include a BBC Two lecture by Professor Brian Cox on the science behind the hit show and the drama An Adventure In Space and Time, written by Mark Gatiss.
The one-off programme stars David Bradley, of the Harry Potter films, as William Hartnell – who was the first Doctor in 1963.
BBC Four will introduce new audiences to Hartnell, with a re-run of the first ever story. The four episodes are being shown in a restored format, not previously broadcast in the UK.
BBC Two’s flagship arts programme The Culture Show is to present Me, You and Doctor Who, with lifelong fan Matthew Sweet exploring the cultural significance of the BBC’s longest running TV drama.
A 90-minute documentary on BBC Radio 2 will ask “Who Is The Doctor?” – using newly-recorded interviews and exclusive archive material to find an answer – while BBC Three will be home to several commissions.
[The anniversary episode sees the return of the Daleks For those less familiar with the show], Doctor Who: The Ultimate Guide will provide a handy primer.
Danny Cohen, Director BBC Television said: “It’s an astonishing achievement for a drama to reach its 50th anniversary.
“I’d like to thank every person – on both sides of the camera – who has been involved with its creative journey over so many years.”
[Smith has already started filming his final scenes as the Doctor, which are due to air in this year’s Christmas episode. His replacement, Scots actor Peter Capaldi, was announced in August.]
Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer on Doctor Who said: “50 years has turned Doctor Who from a television show into a cultural landmark. Personally I can’t wait to see what it becomes after a hundred.”

Re: Doctor Who
Hm, in retrospect, there are some aspects of the 10th Doctor that I've come to dislike, no offense to David Tennant, who portrayed his Doctor well, but I'm glad they took some of the turns they did with Matt Smith.

Re: Doctor Who
[Steven Moffat is a very good writer, and John Hurt might just be the greatest actor on the planet, but it's bullshit that they're not using Paul McGann in this. He already fills the role of a "lost Doctor"/"forgotten Doctor", in both a real and fictional context. Adding Hurt is a jarring retcon, while bringing back McGann would have helped redeem his wasted era. Hurt's the better actor, but McGann's no slouch either – I'd seriously rate him above the other ten main incarnations, especially factoring in his audio work.]

Re: Doctor Who
Concurred, it's a damn shame [McGann never truly got his moment on the big screen, I've heard many positive things about his audio work, and I'd love to give 'em a shot one day, and it'd been nice to see how McGann fit in the Time War had he been given focus. Alas, seeing as that isn't the case, I guess we'll have to hope that the Hurt Doctor sews the 8th and 9th Doctors well, he is definitely a good actor though, so it's the how I'm curious about]

Re: Doctor Who
Give Relative Dimensions a listen. It's a Christmas special of sorts – just an hour long, fairly self-contained, very well-written, and gives you a good idea of McGann's strengths and how the show might have turned out if he'd been given a chance with a decent team behind him.
Re: Doctor Who
I want to give this series a try as I seen it on Netflix. Which season should I start on?
Re: Doctor Who
Season 1 2005, Please don't go straight to Matt!
Re: Doctor Who
Also what's the genre of the show? I know it's Sci-Fi, but is it combined with any other?

Re: Doctor Who
It's purely Sci-Fi, but it can feel a little fantastical at times.

That's a sweet fucking sig! But it's a tad too big, mind changing that?CubedLuck wrote:Season 1 2005, Please don't go straight to Matt!
