The amount of angst I'm experiencing at the moment is literally insane, and I might as well keep it at that.

Well you're thirteen, so yeah. Chill.Dark Lum Lord wrote:The amount of angst I'm experiencing at the moment is literally insane, and I might as well keep it at that.
The English name for those are "Provincial Exams". Obviously, we do them in British Columbia too.ZeptoRay wrote:I have no idea what external and internal means for that, all exams are obligated to be done in school. No idea what a national exam is but we call the exams "minister exams".
Given the fact that Canada covers five hours worth of time zones, having them be a synchronised national thing would be quite disturbing.

If it was like that I would be getting them super late at night.Adsolution wrote:The English name for those are "Provincial Exams". Guess there's an advantage on being in UK, small enough to share the same timezone, as such, unless there's issues in timetabling, we all take exams at around the same time nationally, heck, the papers even have the designated times on them!

"Chilling" is a bit easier said than done but I'm attempting to cure my current angst at the moment with music. At first it only made my angst peak after getting off the bus and coming home - on the bus ride everyone yelled at me to move so someone could sit by me when I had already gotten up to do so and I felt unloved and uncared for even more so than before, so yeah - and then listening to music which only heightened my angst; but by now it's helped me calm down. Either way, my episodes of depression and anger come and go very often so I was bound to "chill" eventually. Anyways, I'd like to take a moment and mention the fact that adolescene has so far been the worst period of my life and I'd do anything to warp back in time to when I was in the early years of elementary school.Adsolution wrote:Well you're thirteen, so yeah. TL;DR: I've managed to mostly get rid of my angst for now but it'll come back eventually.
TL;DR 1.5: Angst is gone.
TL;DR 2.0: Angst gone.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
The best cure for angst, or when you're having trouble chilling, is to realise that you just don't give a fuck. Life exists to have as much fun as possible before you die, so just don't care about stuff and stress goes away. Of course that approach doesn't work for some people and they end up as fat slobs, but here's hoping that doesn't happen!
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
In short its just to not give a fuck about what others thinks and do what you want.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
As long as what you want isn't to go into a local establishment and commit mass murder. Do what you want, but don't be a dick, act as you'd want others to act.

better than my way, sucking in the pain until it spills out and people get miffed.MrBadGuy wrote:As long as what you want isn't to go into a local establishment and commit mass murder. Do what you want, but don't be a dick, act as you'd want others to act.

Oh trust me, I've mastered the skill of not giving any fucks, and I typically have none to give. However, I sometimes have periods of time in which I snap and this could last anywhere from seconds to hours.

Its sure everyone got their limits too. Try to not pay attention to what makes you angst, do something you enjoy doing or something?
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Wanking helps.
I hear.
I hear.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Well if you like doing those things unlike me.
I never had teenage angst, instead I got a major and chronic depression, which lasted 4 years long and stopped last February.

Hahaha, you don't like wanking? Not too surprising since you're a girl...
I'm sad to hear you experienced depression, I too have felt the cold lonely hand of clinical depression, but managed to drag myself out of that shit heap 2 years ago, and now I'm happier than ever!! Well... not right now, I'm sad, but now in general, I'm happy! And I'm glad to hear you're over your depression too!

Its not because i'm a girl that it means that girls doesn't do those things either.
I just don't because I have no interest into that.
I'm "okay" in general, I have no idea what feeling happy is like, I have no idea what any emotion feels like other than anger and depression. Blaming it on my autism since its one of the effects. I mean, I can "feel them" but I will never know what emotion is which.

I had depression myself and I still have a few symptoms now and have some short episodes of it from time to time.ZeptoRay wrote:Well if you like doing those things unlike me.![]()

I always thought of wanking as being the male act, but I suppose it's not defined anywhere, so I suppose I'm wrong. In any case I was making a joke.ZeptoRay wrote:Its not because i'm a girl that it means that girls doesn't do those things either.I just don't because I have no interest into that.

You laugh though don't you? Laughter is a feeling of intense happiness.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Hopefully you can get out of it. Its not a fun part of life. I'm glad I got able to get out of it without any kind of pills.Dark Lum Lord wrote:I had depression myself and I still have a few symptoms now and have some short episodes of it from time to time.ZeptoRay wrote:Well if you like doing those things unlike me.![]()

Well wanking = masturbating.MrBadGuy wrote:I always thought of wanking as being the male act, but I suppose it's not defined anywhere, so I suppose I'm wrong.

I laugh yes but I don't feel anything when I do, it feels forced.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I've been challenged to a "wanking competition" by a girl before which I respectfully declined as we were in my parents kitchen, but I always thought that was odd until now...
Well it saddens me that you don't feel anything, but perhaps it's something we can try to remedy?

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
It surely isn't. During the climax, when my depression was at its worst, I failed nearly every class thanks to it, lost most of my friends, was in constant war with my family, and such. Last year felt more like ten years, actually no winter last year alone felt like eighty years of non-stop pain. I'm glad that's all gone. I've managed to imporve highly this school year which I'm thankful for. That was a mess I never want to experience again.ZeptoRay wrote:Hopefully you can get out of it. Its not a fun part of life.
