Well I won't be entering anymore, my laptop was wiped of it's memory, and the backup thing deleted all files that weren't some super common file like an .exe...

Hm, was this backup thing that 10GB partition that seems to be on all laptops these days? I thought those were for recovering the device itself, not its files.
Either ways, a good reason why one should obtain and backup to an external HDD, I've asked my dad about it too, seeing as my laptop seems to be on the decline, and the one I used to use has bitten the dust.
