Will there ever be a new 3D Rayman Game?

I'm getting Deja Vu here, whenever people refer to the Rayman 4 trailer, they refer to the video below, OCG. I'm pretty sure I told you this before.

Well, in future, I will make sure to remember what they mean when they say trailer for Rayman 4 since there is no trailer for real cancelled Rayman 4 (even though this is Raving Rabbids Prototype and not R4). Hm, I doubt it, his is a reupload, the term Rayman 4 was used to describe Rabbids since it was announced, if memory serves.
I was 9 at the time, I used to ghost the RZ forums back then.

Actually, both of those are Rayman 4. Rayman 4 was the development name of Rayman Raving Rabbids (and RRR is still called Rayman 4 in the game's files), just like Rayman 4 was the development name for Phoenix's Rayman 4 (which may have had a different title if it wasn't cancelled).

I think a blend of R3's action with a hint of Legends/Origins, and the platforming of Rayman 2, combined with the surrealistic worlds featured throughout the quintology, such as the Lands of the Livid Dead (both of 'em), to the Sanctuaries, to the great Picture City itself (c'mon, how many times does it take before it actually does make a reappearance? It missed out in the old R4, and in Origins!).

I do think this nice combination. An equal amount of features (gameplay, designs, music, ect.) from the previous games.

Guess it was already a minigame collection then, but it looks like they still had assets from what was going to be Rayman 4. Damn, that fourth scan with the big mushrooms and the rabbid ships looks awesome.

Yeah it was pretty similar to that, not too interesting, just shots of what the game was gonna be.

Guess it was already a minigame collection then, but it looks like they still had assets from what was going to be Rayman 4.

Looks more like they were going to keep it an open world platformer, but with minigames still being part of the game as "trials". Not a fan of that to be honest, it often annoys me when minigames are forced on the player. I wouldn't like having to stop in the middle of a game like this several times in order to play 'Swing the Cow' or 'Slam the Doors', that would just be an awful distraction from the main game.

I especially feel this way since a few of the RRR minigames just weren't that good, and then I'd once again be in that Jak & Daxter situation where I have to complete a godawful and really difficult minigame in order to unlock an entire area of the main game.

Minigames can be a really good side distraction, and I like them in general, but they really should be entirely optional. It's best for everyone. Especially me.

Yeah, I understand ya, the Mini Games in the Jak series aren't bad by any means, but being forced upon them, and having to beat a relatively high threshold, does kill the flow.

Similar to the problem I have with some Vita games, like Killzone, which forces you to use the touchscreen every time you melee someone. You press triangle, then swipe the screen. What is the point of that. Fucking Sony.

I might even have enjoyed the fishing minigame a tiny bit if it wasn't such an obstacle.

Unfortuantely, 3D platformers are extremely rare these days, so we probably won't get another 3D Rayman.

I disagree, while it is true that Platformers aren't the reigning Genre, there are still plenty of high quality games in the drama that see release every year, heck, one of the good things about the genre's fall from being dominant is that those that are in said genre have to put in a real effort now, as opposed to how we saw many crappy platformers back in their heyday.
