Price I find to be pretty irrelevant when it comes to purchasing then thing you'll probably use most in your life next to a computer. A $400-500 console? So what, you'll be using it virtually every day for the next five whole years.

Master wrote:Sony tends to buy the rights to the franchises these studios make as well, hence why other consoles won't ever see the likes of Ratchet, Jak, Sly, Nathan Drake, Cole McGrath and so on.
However, I don't think all the studios are exclusively owned by Sony, Insomniac Games, for one, began to develop games for the 360 in tandem with the PS3, though of course, they can't put Ratchet and Clank on the 360.
Tis' a shame. I'm not really fond of Sony to be honest, even if I do like what their library of games has to offer. As much as you may all have to say about the XBone One, you can't deny that the PlayStation 4 lacks something, well, new. Much like the PS3, it really just feels like an updated version of the previous console. And today those fancy menu's and stores are not new to consoles so that doesn't help either. It's no wonder the Wii sold so well. They offered something that wasn't ever before in gaming. I feel that even if the Wii U Gamepad may lean a bit to being gimmicky it still offers more change in gaming. But then again Sony doesn't have to do much because their fanbase is made up almost completely out of dipshits that will loyally buy everything they spit out, good or bad, and act like it is the greatest thing in technology and then proceed to make fun of other consoles because apparently one cannot play Uncharted without making sure the whole world knows that it's not available on the XBox. It's no lie that Sony knows very well how to market gaming to the teenager audience.
OldClassicGamer wrote:If Sega made Dreamcast 2, made it compatible with Saturn and Dreamcast games, made it Region Free, made that basically every unit can also be dev kit so we can also use it for ripping Dreamcast ISOS, I bet sales would be huge.
I wish Sega does it but I don't know. Sometimes I like to imagine that in alternative universe Nintendo lost and that Sega won. It is interesting thought. I bet even Sonic games would even be different.
"Hey kids! Who needs GTA V! Come check out the Dreamcast 2! Our console is compatible with SATURN GAMES!"

A new Sega console would sell like shit. It's already hard to get anything on the gaming market today as the three companies each have fans that won't switch over easily or invest in a second console. Valve may be able to pull it off but that's because Steam is already huge and pretty much rules PC gaming by itself. Valve also has a reputation of a company that has made some of the most revolutionizing, inspiring and loyal to fan games. Sonic and Jet Set Radio do not even come close to comparing to titles like Half-Life or Left 4 Dead, and without those titles your not gonna make it into the console market. Sega nor its franchises have any kind of huge name in the gaming industry. Their much better off like they are right now, releasing sweet titles like Lost World and Bayonetta. The pressure of fighting against the big three and Steam would only result in them loosing a ton of money and shitting out desperate games. Dreamcast 2 would have games like Sonic Shuffle reappear.

Besides, there's plenty reason why it was Nintendo and not Sega that won the competition.

One of my dad's friends told me this story about when his mother was in surgery at about 80 years of age and the head surgeon called round all kinds of doctors to come look at the marvellously healthy organs she had - she doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, never has, never will. I find this story inspiring.

What? You intend to remain completely passive and hope love will find you? If you're looking for it, you only need to create the opportunity. If the opportunity is there, it'll happen eventually.
---

As concerning my own relationships, I've had my fair share of drama in middle school. I once fell for a girl that was generally disliked by everyone for a reason I still cannot comprehend, but then her best friend fell in love with me but not the other way around and, oh brother...
Then I fell in love with one of those 'unreachables' that I didn't think really existed in my school, but then again, I later lost my love for her when I removed the blindfold and saw what her character was really like.
I also at some point fell in love with a friend, but not actually that deeply. I don't know why it remained superficial, but eventually it was myself who decided I wanted to remain friends with her and not attempt to create a strange situation between us. I'm on great terms with her nowadays, actually.

Currently, I'm in this awfully depressing cycle of this one girl getting very close to me and then growing very distant repeatedly. She's the closest thing to a girlfriend I've yet to have had, but if being close together makes us both sigh in happy relief, fills our eyes and hearts with joy and if a warm embrace is enough to send our hearts racing, I don't know what else 'having a girlfriend' amounts to (other than the comfort with being intimate in public) - by the way, that's not just me personally interpreting situations wrongly; it's what happens to us both in one of those 'close cycles'.
I've figured out some time ago that I will always love her - she has hurt me in the past and still my love didn't flicker - but we may very well never end up together. And maybe that's for the best. Either way, true love will find its path if you allow it to flow freely.

It's because the text you write comes out as a wall. There's no spacing, nothing to ease the reading. If you use some more spacing between lines and paragraphs, your texts become a lot more legible.

Your mother probably only thought you were too young to be thinking about such things. She was trying to be kind to you.
And who knows - maybe you'll find someone you really enjoy spending a lot of your time with, even if not romantically.

I think people nowadays get married too soon - they commit to each other before fully knowing whether they will truly stay together. Or maybe either side just wants the alimony. :/

Rather meticulous, but rather insightful post thar, Shroobie.
Yeah, it does seem that you tend to worry less about those sort of things in a more mature and thoughtful environment, and not one dominated by (well, I don't want to insult anyone) immature and rather brash bunches.

I'm not hoping for love or anything, I just have no interest in searching for it. And I was saying that because I saw a bunch of people searching too hard and they just got into depression. I don't feel the need to get into a relationship, i'm good with just being a friend with people.

Everyone has said they won't get married at some point in their lives. It's easy to make sweeping statements when you're fifteen. Your mother's a lot older and more experienced than you. I would venture that she is likely correct.
OldClassicGamer wrote:I see relationships as a waste of time (no offense to anyone who is in a relationship)
This is the position that hopelessly unsuccessful people take with the subconscious purpose of making themselves feel better. I've had very little luck in this department myself, but at least I try – the alternative is too sad to contemplate. Relationships are not a waste of time. They are a fundamental aspect of our society and a profound source of meaning in life. You know this. I know this. Why refute it?

Don't pressure it down on someone because they are a teen. I myself don't want to get married because I think its a waste of money and I think its useless, I don't need a ring on my finger to show that I love someone. :?

Having witnessed both my sisters getting married in just the past year indeed it's expensive, but they were happy on their days, and that's all that mattered. They waited and saved their money for ages and for them it was worth it, both ceremonies were really well done. Should that be me sometime I don't even know what I want to do for my wedding! :fou2:

Hm, I admit I'm still a little naive when it comes to relationships and the like, I don't really know what a marriage or other ceremony of bonding will be like or if it will even occur.

I don't really feel like relationships when your that young are not often anything like a relationship. I could be wrong but it often looks like all the guys around me are just going trough girl after girl and never stay together for longer then a month. More simple flirting then real love. Never tried it myself really because cultural differences keep slapping me in the face. There was one girl who I was, err, "sort of" together with for a while but she just ended up being the most pretentious bastard I've ever met (This girl would literally go around with her phone playing Beatles music and hoping she could get into arguments about how today's music sucks. Aghhhhh. And the worst part is that we're likely going to move just a few streets away from her. Oh the joy). It's not impossible though. I believe my grandparents met when they were 14.

So you're in a scenario where you actively have to avoid sex and relationships in order not to have any? You're in no position to be complaining! I don't avoid them, they avoid me...
Ah, they were looking for a bit more than a shift, now! ;)

There is a girl who has a crush on me, but I don't feel anything romantic for her, and never will (we are not very compatible, at all, but she is nice person. A bit of a saint, really).

And I was deeply in love with a girl for 3 years, and a part of me still is, but she kind of turned into a horrible person. Her betrayal, and a few others over the course of my life, have led me to have trust issues. I kind of just want to remain isolated to figure out what's wrong with me (because there has to be something), and not repeat the same kind of events again. I've got plenty of sleepless nights to think anyway.

And while there is a girl who seems kinda cool in my college class, she seems like too much trouble for me right now, so meh.

Though I don't believe romance and sex is necessary for a happy life. Ignorance is bliss, after all.

Well relashionships are insane. Some people find that they can get into a good stable one without a huge amount of difficulty. Other, like me are pretty much sprayed with girl repelant. They basicly repel away from me all the time. I dunno if its because im a nerd and look nerdy, if its because I have aspergers or if its something else. They just avoid me. I hardly have any friends as well. Its difficult.

Whatever makes you happy. Personally the idea of having a companion in life who I can get along with sounds like a pleasant idea I want in on but I know that finding the right companion can be difficult. And having it come from both sides is a whole other part of it all.

I don't feel the need to get married early (If at all. I'm on the same boat as Zepto but Spiral brings up a good point. The idea's you have in your head are most likely not all gonna be the same in five or ten years.) and am not sure whether I want kids, but again my mind may change. But you know, if they don't change then I imagine I'm not an easy person for everyone. Last thing I'd do is go and desperately search dating sites though.
