I used to play this a bit, then got bored (+community was rather uh... different???). Now my mailbox gets constantly flooded with their notifications and "your account is banned type your password and login" crap. You can take it I don't want it anymore, dang it

I'm interested though, Bzzit, when you'd think of her, how would you picture her? It's not like the Runescape persona's give that much definition of character...

Well since I was young and stupid, I guess my initial thought was that she would basically be a more detailed version of her in-game character. But alas, those were the days when I was so naive, that the thought of it being a middle aged man didn't cross my mind.

I actually read a magazine article recently saying you shouldn't ever do those things & that the drag of daily life is worth it because you get to stay in your comfort zone at all times. Sometimes the culture of my own country feels just as alienating to me as the US.

Aaah, it's all coming back to me now. I was an avid Runescape player from 2004-2006, but then I got hacked and lost all my gold. For a while then I switched over to Maple Story, only to find out shortly later that you literally gain no satisfaction from playing after you get off Victoria Island.

On the note of the island actually, I always found it amusing, because right next to us is Vancouver Island, which is often called Victoria Island due to BC's capitol city Victoria holstering 80% of the island's population.

I played some Runescape clone long ago. It was actually kinda fun but I remember there being a really awful combat system that made it near impossible to play.

I never played Runescape but my little brother used to. I never really played online games like that honestly, I never really had fun with them, exception to Platform Racing.

If you want to play an awful grinding mmorpg, I suggest Spiral Knights. Even community is horrible (sometimes). At least the game is F2P (there is some P2P shit, but you ain't forced to buy it because at some point you can't do a thing), and it's rather pretty.

There is Platform Racing 3 now though, less people are playing than before.

But seriously, once you get "proper" stuff and kill more dangerous bosses, game gets hella boring.

Never discussed this side of my life on PC before, but I suppose I'm less uptight these days. I've only ever asked out two girls.

The first was late last year. We had similar interests and backgrounds. She was very attractive and had a superficially magnetic personality, but she also had some issues I didn't learn about until it was too late. She rejected me and began (or simply continued; I'll never know) spreading false rumours about me, so I broke off contact. Now I see her occasionally. She doesn't know that I know what she said about me. We act like nothing happened.

The second was a couple of months ago. She was the best friend I'd ever had; basically a warmer, more generous, outgoing and proactive version of myself. She said she had to think about it. We had very little communication over the next few weeks; I gradually realised that either she'd decided against it or she'd just made a misguided attempt to let me down easy. I'm not sure I want to know which. Now we see each other on a daily basis, and we're back on excellent terms, though neither of us have really mentioned it. It's strange.

As you can see, I don't get interested easily, and generally only to people very similar to myself. I recently met a girl with whom I've gotten on exceptionally well, but it's kind of doomed by the fact that she's only in the country for one semester. We'll see how it goes.
