I'm excited for these releases even though I'm bad at Smash Bros. :P

I don't play much meself, but this is the ultimate crossover, so it's exciting.
Still not a big fan of the Other M power suit though...

I like the Other M suit, it's sleek, and suits Samus' agile movements a bit better.

However, this brings me to a feature I really want in this game - alternate costumes for every character (one per character). I don't mean the recolours we normally get, but rather, what Wario got in Brawl (you could use both his WarioWare outfit, and his classic outfit, both with the regular six recolours everyone else had). It's a standard for fighting games, and Smash Bros is the perfect series for it. I can think of so many examples of alternate costumes for each character. I also think it would prevent clone characters (for example, why couldn't Dr. Mario just be an alternate costume for Mario in Melee? Why did he have to take up an extra slot on the roster?).

While it suits Samus' agility, I don't like how sleek it is, I prefer it to look somewhat rugged and fortified like the original designs, though I think my favourite is the Prime 2/3 Varia Suit, nice balance between rugged and sleek imo.

Yeah, I see what you mean about alternate costumes, there's also a little cheat to start as Zero Suit Samus as well, if I recall correctly.

I haven't heard much of the Samus suits, mostly because of me not researching all the new footage. I'm liking the roster so far though.

I'm talking more about the design of the same suit, that being the Varia Suit, though it may be the same thing, different Metroid games have altered the designs slightly.

Well, that was rather hilarious.
Hm, still, nice to see Wii mode on the Gamepad nonetheless, and controlling it doesn't seem as bad as I was expecting.

Yeah, it isn't actually bad at all. Though I do find it odd how they haven't figured out how to get the GamePad or the Pro Controller working with Wii Mode yet.

And hey, at least when I tried out Brawl, I got an idea of how the new Smash will look on the GamePad.

I'm so buying a pro controller by the time the new Smash Bros comes out, as much as I do like the gamepad, I CAN'T see how I'd continue to play fighting games with that huge thing... still waiting for Soul Calibur II HD on Wii U Namco!

I got a Pro Controller as part of the ZombiU bundle.

Speaking of the Pro Controller, this video may be of interest to those buying Smash Bros for Wii U, and maybe are worried about the inability to legitimately use a GameCube controller:

EDIT THAT NOBODY WILL SEE:
This is adorable:

Apologies for the bump, but I figure I should update this topic with news whenever it comes, as I know not everyone has a Wii U and Miiverse, and therefore, may not be able to follow Sakurai's Miiverse updates as easily. And it can be easy to miss news on this game if you don't have Miiverse, what with all of the news regarding games that are closer to release than the new Smash Bros:

Hey since Mario Kart 8 got a topic for fellow RPC players, may I propose the "RPC Smash Society"?

Yeah I was thinking about bumping this, but I wasn't sure how big the Smash community here was as it didn't pick up much momentum.

Right now, though, I'm at a bit of a loss. Four of my five most wanted newcomers got into the game.

Who didn't get in? I've been hoping for Hector or Ephraim from Fire Emblems 7 & 8 but so far neither were confirmed.

As longs as we have some members who are willing to join the RPC Smash Society!

@dart you can look at the roster at Nintendo's website. I think.

Holy shit, I can't wait for more Rosalina!
@Brad: I was referring to the last character that SB wants in the game but isn't in yet.

Oh, right, the last newcomer I want is Professor Layton. I also want Snake back, but I am kinda losing hope for both.

As for Rosalina, I am so excited for her (in more ways than one! ;) ). The only thing I don't like is her Final Smash. It's really random and weaksauce. THIS is what it should have been:
