Re: What games are you currently playing?
Both. I got halfway through the first game in one sitting, but I haven't touched it since. I plan to play through the entire trilogy though (and possibly Daxter's PSP spin-off as it's easily attainable for me).Master wrote:Jak and Daxter, hm? Would this be the first one or the series in general?
Also, seeing as you were asking for changes made in Wind Waker HD, I'll list some I know, as there are quite a few (I don't have the game but I really want to get it someday):
- -The graphics being in lovely HD (of course!
)
-Addition of "Hero Mode". In this mode, you take double damage, and you cannot refill your health by finding randomly dropped hearts, as they will never appear. So you'll have to stock up on red potions in this mode. It's unlocked from the start, and can be toggled on or off mid-playthrough.
-You can find the "Swift Sail" in the Auction House on Windfall Island after beating the dungeon on Dragon Roost Island. This is a new item, that almost doubles your sailing speed when equipped. It is also is immune to the influence of wind, meaning you won't have to stop to change the wind's direction while sailing with it.
-You can put notes in a bottle and set them out to sea. This is for making messages that other players can receive (it's also powered by Miiverse). Good for leaving tips and hints. This feature replaces the Tingle Tuner from the original, so you get the note and bottle feature from Tingle.
-The Pictobox (I think that's what it's called) can now hold 12 pictures instead of three, I believe. You can also take selfies with it (BEST FEATURE!).
-The music has been redone with live instruments, unlike the original, which used sequenced MIDI tracks.
-Many animations in the game have been sped up. An example would be the grappling hook animation, which used to take 3 seconds, but now, it only takes just over 1 second. Speaking of the grappling hook, you can now change direction mid-swing.
-GamePad support, and Off-TV Play.
-Those little fish guys (forget what they're called) that filled in your sea chart and gave you hints now have their hints saved onto the sea chart, so you can see them at any time. Previously, you were expected to keep a notebook and pencil at the ready.
-The Triforce hunt has been streamlined. I forget what was actually done though. I think that, instead of finding Triforce charts for all eight, you only have to do so for five of the pieces.

Hm, so these changes make the game more accessible to potential newbies like myself, and also more challenging and less tedious to vets like Rayfist and yourself.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
May just finish the second half from Origins in one go today. Need to get back to Half-Life 2 as well.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Well, I'm not sure I'd be considered a veteran...
Quick confession, but I've played every 3D Zelda game except Skyward Sword (well, I had a quick go in a friend's house). However, I haven't completed any of them. I always run into some kind of bad luck that demotivates me from playing the whole way through (except for the original version of Ocarina of Time, which I didn't really enjoy. I love the 3DS remake, though). I have played through some of the 2D ones (as in, top down ones, not including the DS games), and finished them, though.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Ehh, I haven't ever even beat Ocarina of Time. But I don't really mind. I prefer to wait with games if I'm not really feeling them. Despite my hype I still haven't even played more then the tutorials in Dream Team.

Haven't really played Zelda, though I have a mild curiosity for the series.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
For me, it's not that I didn't enjoy the 3D Zeldas, sans the original Ocarina of Time. I actually loved each one. Let me explain:
Ocarina of Time N64 - I simply didn't like how the controls felt. Very clunky and floaty. And the framerate annoyed me. I realise that it's an old game, but that doesn't change the fact that those elements pulled me out of an otherwise fantastic game. I also find it to be a game with a very slow start. The original version of this game simply hasn't aged all that well.
Majora's Mask - The controls were better here, and the framerate didn't bother me as much, if at all (even though it's not much better, IIRC). I actually really want to go back to this one, it's one of the more fascinating Zelda titles. The only problem was, when I started my playthrough of this, I was quite sick. My train of thought was very slow, and I felt very drained. Therefore, I was far too indecisive and couldn't really handle the more stressful nature of this game. I booted it up on my emulator thinking it would be like other Zelda games, where you can take your time if you wish. I was dead wrong.
Wind Waker - My brother got a lend of his friend's GameCube and this game, along with some others. I played a fair bit into it, but we gave back the borrowed items before long. So I never did get a chance to complete it.
Twilight Princess - I was at the point in the game where you go to the desert dungeon. I was going on a Heart Piece hunt before heading there (simply because the fortune teller in Hyrule Castle Town meant this was easier to do, so I got hooked on finding them. I love finding collectibles in games), along with other side quests. However, my little cousin was over one day, while I was out of the house. He wanted to try out the game, and wound up deleting my save file. Wasn't bothered going back to it. This was a few years ago, so it's probably high time I start the game again.
Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks - I just.....dropped them, for some reason? I can't remember why I stopped playing them. I was having fun with them, then I just stopped playing for whatever reason. I have no idea why.
Ocarina of Time 3D - They fixed the problems I had with the original, sans the slow start (though that was much less of an issue because everything else was better than before). However, I simply got stuck on the fourth dungeon, the Forest Temple. I still have my save file, and the game. But I was stuck in a "TRY EVERYTHING, WITH EVERYTHING, ON EVERYTHING, USING EVERYTHING" kind of way. Like, I was progressing fine, and suddenly, there were no new areas I could visit. There was a balcony I could see with a chest, likely containing a small key (which I needed). I couldn't find my way up, though.
I think it's funny, because I do love the Zelda games. I wouldn't of played nearly every game in the series if I didn't. But I seem to always have terrible luck with the 3D titles. I have finished most of the 2D games, though.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
For me return to castle wolfenstein is a great game!
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm mildly interested in the series. The only game I've completed is Phantom Hourglass and Link to the Past (I think? Not sure. Have to reply it anyway before I buy the sequel.)
I'm 100% sure I'll beat Wind Waker HD though. I got stuck on it a lot as a kid but it has always been the most appealing game to me.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've been playing Terraria lately, I've been a fan of the game since it's release, and the 1.2 update has made me enjoy it even more. Tis a great game and I recommend everyone to play it, Can anyone back me up on this?
Re: What games are you currently playing?
It looks like a fun game but seeing as I've been hooked to Minecraft for more the two years now I don't think I need a similar game to start obtaining all my free time.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Started playing some more Metroid Prime. This weeks is gonna consist of playing that and Melee until the release of both Pokemon X and Beyond 2 Souls on Friday

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Booyah! Someone recognised it without prompt!
Yeah, I was trying to go for a Metroid like sig akin to the Prime 1 and Fusion logos, but I couldn't the right font, so this was what I came up with instead, I'm glad I didn't in retrospect, this looks a little more distinct as a result. The font is still used in a Metroid game for text, mind you.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Yeah, I was thinking the font was familiar too, but couldn't rememeber which Metroid game used it. Was it Prime 3?
This is why when people ask me "what kind of games do you like?", I just say "ALLLLL KINDS OF 'EM!".
Because I even recognise things from games I've hardly had much time with. I'm such a nerd.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
The original, Super Metroid, Prime 2 (multiplayer, and in the Wii version), Prime 3, and Prime Hunters. Haven't completed any of them though. My best friend is a fan of the series, and he got me to play most of them. I do want to play them alll through though, as I like the series.
