I think I'm going to play Dark Moon. I really need to beat it.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
In my opinion, Wind Waker and Majora's Mask are the best of the 3D Zeldas. Wind Waker is huge, has tons of things to do and explore, and has a great cartoony artsyle (It's almost like a 3D Ubiart game) and atmosphere. Majora's Mask is challenging, unique, and also has a great atmosphere and sense of despair. Both are really fun.sonicbrawler182 wrote:For me, it's not that I didn't enjoy the 3D Zeldas, sans the original Ocarina of Time. I actually loved each one. Let me explain:
Ocarina of Time N64 - I simply didn't like how the controls felt. Very clunky and floaty. And the framerate annoyed me. I realise that it's an old game, but that doesn't change the fact that those elements pulled me out of an otherwise fantastic game. I also find it to be a game with a very slow start. The original version of this game simply hasn't aged all that well.
Majora's Mask - The controls were better here, and the framerate didn't bother me as much, if at all (even though it's not much better, IIRC). I actually really want to go back to this one, it's one of the more fascinating Zelda titles. The only problem was, when I started my playthrough of this, I was quite sick. My train of thought was very slow, and I felt very drained. Therefore, I was far too indecisive and couldn't really handle the more stressful nature of this game. I booted it up on my emulator thinking it would be like other Zelda games, where you can take your time if you wish. I was dead wrong.
Wind Waker - My brother got a lend of his friend's GameCube and this game, along with some others. I played a fair bit into it, but we gave back the borrowed items before long. So I never did get a chance to complete it.
Twilight Princess - I was at the point in the game where you go to the desert dungeon. I was going on a Heart Piece hunt before heading there (simply because the fortune teller in Hyrule Castle Town meant this was easier to do, so I got hooked on finding them. I love finding collectibles in games), along with other side quests. However, my little cousin was over one day, while I was out of the house. He wanted to try out the game, and wound up deleting my save file. Wasn't bothered going back to it. This was a few years ago, so it's probably high time I start the game again.
Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks - I just.....dropped them, for some reason? I can't remember why I stopped playing them. I was having fun with them, then I just stopped playing for whatever reason. I have no idea why.
Ocarina of Time 3D - They fixed the problems I had with the original, sans the slow start (though that was much less of an issue because everything else was better than before). However, I simply got stuck on the fourth dungeon, the Forest Temple. I still have my save file, and the game. But I was stuck in a "TRY EVERYTHING, WITH EVERYTHING, ON EVERYTHING, USING EVERYTHING" kind of way. Like, I was progressing fine, and suddenly, there were no new areas I could visit. There was a balcony I could see with a chest, likely containing a small key (which I needed). I couldn't find my way up, though.
I think it's funny, because I do love the Zelda games. I wouldn't of played nearly every game in the series if I didn't. But I seem to always have terrible luck with the 3D titles. I have finished most of the 2D games, though.

Hm, Zero Mission is a good place to start, it's a remake of the original that adds new content and is much more accessible.

Just tried the Battlefield 4 beta, was alright.

Dark Moon is a 3DS game I missed out on, I'll get it once price drops probably, along with DKC3D if that price ever drops.
I've still been progressing through Wind Waker HD, I'm on the final quest with the triforce shards. And I obtained a copy of Mario and Luigi Dream Team today, have not played it yet though.

Hm, they're is some gameplay evolution in the trilogy, give 'em a shot, you'll love Dr Nefarious in the third game.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I think I was still trying to complete the first game. I remember I returned to Ratchet's planet but I didn't manage to reach the dirty bastard who wants to blow the planet up. So what I was doing was trying to revisit levels to try to get more bolts, gold bolts, skill points and the last weapons (Urgh, why R.Y.N.O. is so painful to get?).

Um, are you aware of that bolt trick in the hoverboard course? I haven't played much of the original R&C, but look that one up, it's a convenient way to grind bolts without doing much.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I tried it out, the problem is the ammount of patience to get it right. The only time I reached the hoverboard course, I think because I jumped on the track it automatically brought me to the race. I got frustrated. I also got with seizures with the repetitive number of failures and the camera movements.

Ah, that sucks. Shame too, that's a very easy means of getting it done.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Yeah, and I used a trick to get 600 Precursor Orbs in Jak 3 for the platinum there. One problem I have with Jak 2 and 3 is that they put Precursor Orbs in one off areas, meaning you get one chance to get them, and if you miss 'em, unless you use tricks, you ain't getting 100%.
Re: What games are you currently playing?

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Yeah there's some orbs that can be missed at the end of Jak 2, don't think there's any missable ones in Jak 3 but I could be wrong. I used a glitch to get all the precursor orbs in Jak 2 because one of the jet board challenges was borderline impossible
Also Haruka, getting 100% is much more forgivable and rewarding in the sequels to Ratchet and Clank!

No, he refers to the Jetboard in Jak 2.
The Jetboard races in Size Matters were pretty decent, weren't they?

I'm about to try and tackle Whale Bay in Rayman 2 for the PSX.
Oh, and Purple Henchmen are annoying to even attempt to fight.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
The one that runs after you and tries to hook you? Annoying at first, but once you have him figured, you'll find it more funny to mess him around. Of course, since this is the PS1 version, you'll need him to shoot the Sparadrap door in order to break the cage in there.
