That electoon, if he does that when Rayman frees him, I will laugh SO hard

Re: Rayman Origins
Hm, it does have some subtle creepiness to it, want to submit it to the Halloween Contest, Brawler?

Re: Rayman Origins
I didn't think it was contest-entry worthy at all. I didn't even intend for it to be creepy, so much as mischievous (the hands are just a by product of a lack of time and wanting to have something produced in class).Master wrote:Hm, it does have some subtle creepiness to it, want to submit it to the Halloween Contest, Brawler?
Hm, I'll hold off on it for now. I totally overlooked the contest topic. After reading it, and seeing that videos are allowed, I actually have two ideas for potential entries of my own. One a video, one a drawing. If I can't do the video, I'll do the drawing, and if I can't even do that, I'll submit the Electoon at the last minute.

That be one creepy electoon, Brawler.

Re: Rayman Origins
Now I'm tempted to make a legitimately creepy one sometime.
Re: Rayman Origins
I'd like to see one.

Re: Rayman Origins
Indeed, do as you please for the contest though, no-one's saying you have to submit a follow up to that.

Re: Rayman Origins
There should be a link somewhere on the Legends topic. i'll see if I can find it for you.
Re: Rayman Origins
So I've almost completed my second go at Origins to be fair I've been a little harsh on it. Some parts do work and I'm even gonna say that the soundtrack is pretty damn great.
But then Zepto reminded me of this:
This here is better then everything in the game combined.

Re: Rayman Origins
Hmm, I wouldn't mind all of that barring the episodic format, I don't think that would have worked out.
Re: Rayman Origins
It wouldn't have indeed. But Jesus Christ this Origins looks fantastic.Master wrote:Hmm, I wouldn't mind all of that barring the episodic format, I don't think that would have worked out.

Re: Rayman Origins
It's funny how much Origins' could have contributed to the lore up front, but decided to be subtle with most lore and ineffective with plot twists.

Re: Rayman Origins
I'm far into my second playthrough of Origins too. I admittedly have found a few more things to criticise than I did before, though some of these criticisms are due to playing Origins after Legends and realising how much Legends did improve over Origins.
Origins is still my second favourite Rayman game though, alongside Rayman 2.

Re: Rayman Origins
Y'know, I still haven't done a complete rerun of Rayman Origins since I beat it in 2011, like I've said, I've not felt the compulsion to do so.
However, I think I should give it a whirl again, with lots having happened since then, I want to see if my position requires redefinition.

Re: Rayman Origins
Now that I've freshened up my mind I gotta say that the game is just all over the place. So very few occasions where the mood it wants to establish works and often it lasts so short.

Re: Rayman Origins
In my honest opinion, I don't consider Origins to have much in the way of actual deep atmosphere, and I don't see that as a negative. With worlds like Gourmand Land, you can tell this game was just all about the developers letting their imaginations run a riot. And I have no problem with that.
Though I did appreciate how Legends brought in a great deal in the way of a deeper atmosphere.

Yeah, I really want to know why they changed it to a sequel.Keane wrote:So I've almost completed my second go at Origins to be fair I've been a little harsh on it. Some parts do work and I'm even gonna say that the soundtrack is pretty damn great.
