Re: Rayman 1
He could detach them like a missle possibly....
Re: Rayman 1
I always thought that the limbs were non existent, but that his body has a sort of magnetic field so that his body parts always come back to him
.
Re: Rayman 1
Rayman's anatomy is indeed a weird one.

Re: Rayman 1
Hm, if we look at Rayman 3, it seems he can unconsciously control his body parts mentally, unless they're taken away from him through sufficient physical force.

Rayman's anatomy is irrational! So complicated, it can't be even described by today's scientists.

Re: Rayman 1
Forget the subject, the world he lives in has floating landmasses and impossible locales.
Re: Rayman 1
And also he lives in a world where robo-army's are lead by midgets and funny faces are a better attack than a sword.
Re: Rayman 1
Actually what this thing reminds me of is Hansel and Grettel's tale.spiraldoor wrote:I'd never thought about that before. The imagery of a tall stranger in a dark coat in conjunction with sweets and stuff does kind of evoke paedophilia, though I doubt it was intentional.THEdragon wrote:Someone on Tumblr once said that Mr Dark is a paedophile because he lives in a candy land and stalks 'a twelve years old boy'.

I remember someone compared it to ZZZap here! I am sure someone did.

The resemblance is uncanny.
Re: Rayman 1
I sorta see the similarities.
Re: Rayman 1
Does anyone have footage of what Rayman does in Rayman Advance when left still for a while? If I recall correctly, he speaks jibberish, but I can't remember if they used the same clip from Tarayzan for him or not.
Re: Rayman 1
I know that in the PSX version, he clears his throat (I always thought it sounded like a sneeze).THEdragon wrote:Does anyone have footage of what Rayman does in Rayman Advance when left still for a while? In the PC version he talks the most, sprouting highly 90s video game related one-liners like 'Yo dudes' and 'i'm waiting...' in a voice that sounds really different from the other Rayman sounds. I always though that was wierd
In Rayman Designer and the other PC Rayman spinoffs, he clears his throat, and then says 'hey!' cutely.
I honestly can't remember him doing anything in the GBA version, but as I happen to have my cartridge with me, I'll have a check
EDIT: In Rayman Advance, he spends most of the time opening his mouth to talk while nothing happens. If you leave him long enough he clears his throat using the same sample from the PC version. The removal of the other sounds is clearly a hardware limitation thing.
Re: Rayman 1
Ah. I swear Rayman spoke jibberish if you left him long enough. That must be my memory making things up!

Re: Rayman 1
i think the best leaving rayman still bits are in rayman 3, just love when he starts playing soccer.
Re: Rayman 1
My favourite idle animations are in Rayman 2 and 3, when you leave the controller for a while, rayman will grimace, this attack/idle animation I just adore :3
I also like the ones in Rayman 1, but since I have the DSiWare version, he taps his foot and says either one of these:
"Hey you!"
"I'm waiting!"
"Yo! You!"
Which always puts a smile on my face
Unfortunatley, the little sneeze noise doesn't make any appearance in the DSiWare version.

He does all the same animations as the other versions, there's just no voice.THEdragon wrote:Does anyone have footage of what Rayman does in Rayman Advance when left still for a while? I'm almost certain, though I may be wrong.

Re: Rayman 1
The Hansel & Gretel imagery is pretty obvious now that you mention it. It's probably what inspired the developers.Haruka wrote:Actually what this thing reminds me of is Hansel and Grettel's tale.
