Sadly, most of Spyro fans moved to Skylanders. At least on darkSpyro forums. I don't really visit that forum that much. As for Skylanders as a franchise, I only like 3DS versions of first 2 games because they feel like mix between PS1 classics and TLoS by the gameplay. I am not even gonna bother with Swap Force, or bother buying any figures besides the ones I got with the games.

Meh, Skylanders is a clever idea when it comes to the money behind it, physical DLC in a way. As a game though, I've never really found it to be that compelling, which works, given its intended audience.

Just woah, Ad.

So disappointed.

I once thought that Skylanders could maybe have DLC option on Steam, XBLA and PSN for those who do not want to collect toys, but then I remembered that if it was same price as a toys, it would be way too overpriced for character DLC and we all know Activision loves money a bit more than other companies so thats why it wont happen.

I've never really played a Spyro game from start to finish, was more of a Crash person in that regard.

It's too huge for my taste.

First 3 are a must play before die, but don't bother with rest of them unless you are a die-hard fan or just curious to see how series started going slowly downhill.

I'm a huge Spyro fan, I grew up with the PSOne games. Also loved A Hero's Tail, I thought it was on the same level of quality as the original 3.

Back in 2010, I decided to play the Legend of Spyro Trilogy. The first one is good, but nothing special. The second is actually really good, on the same level of quality as the Classic trilogy, with a good story and beautiful music to boot. As for Dawn of the Dragon, I actually quite liked that one too, more so than the first LoS game, even if it's flawed, and a disappointment seeing as it was the last in a trilogy, and was Spyro's jump into the Xbox 360 and PS3. I especially like it in co-op, I did a full playthrough with my best friend. It's admittedly a guilty pleasure, as it could of been a lot bigger and better, but something about it is just very fun to me regardless. I don't know what it is.

I couldn't careless about Skylanders though. I mean, I'd try it if I knew someone who owned it and one of the toys (the Spyro and Cynder ones would do me fine!), but there's no way I'm forking out that much for what looks like a pretty lackluster beat-em-up RPG for kids. At least the 3DS version seems like it has some nice platforming in it.

For me, the second TLoS was the second worst Spyro game ever (Enter The Dragonfly was the worst for me). First one was ok, and Dawn of the Dragon was meh.
Hero's Tail was better than TLoS games but I just could not get into the game that much for some reason.
3DS Skylanders are good unlike console version which is not so good because it really has some PS1 elements but also a good elements of TLoS games.

There wont be next game. Vavle never makes game with number 3 in it so do not expect Episode 3 or HL 3.

Eh, I'm just drawing Bad Batter form OFF because my DA gallery needs more creepy creatures for October. Decided to not draw on a huge square canvas this time.

Well if the ending of the game was like a final end then there will never, ever be a 3rd, maybe they just finish their games in two parts?
